Main Stealers Aint Got A Friggin Clue!!!!!!!!

Post by ThePrisoner »

So I went into my main stealer this morning and dropped of my 6 for its 60k full service.
as advised on this forum, I said to the man behind the desk, 'Excuse me, but could you do me a favour? Would you be able to leave the old pollen filter in the car so i can see how dirty it is.'

Main Stealer replies: 'Oh, you want your pollen filter changed as well?'
Pris replies: 'Ugh yes, its all part of the service isn't it?'
Main stealer replies: 'Not sure we've ever changed a pollen filter before'
Pris: 'I am paying for a full comprehensive Peugeot service arn't I?'
Main stealer: 'Yes Sir'
Pris. 'Then when your mechanic consults my Peugeot 406 service book he will see that this includes a polen filter change as standard then wont he?'
Main stealer (goes and consults a manual) and says: 'Ok will ring you and let you know'

?????????????!

WTF?

So if I hadn't of said anything, guess what no new pollen filter!!

When I pick it up later I will be checking down the list of everything that I have been charged for, and what work has been carried out!

With Peugeot dealers I find its best to wait for the car and watch them from the viewing window.
Its amazing what the fookers find time to talk about with there colleagues and often just wonder about doing fook all.
But you get charged for them wasting time.

I told you :|

I sat and watched when I took my car, luckily the service manager knows me which helped a bit.

I drew up a list of 'jobs' for them to do instead of a 'service'.

It went fairly well, and I enjoyed watching the mechanics from where I was sitting in the 'lounge' as they generally mooched about, merrily threw rolled up paper at eachother and played a little game where one ducks down behind a customers car and the other 'bombs' him with some rolled up blue paper, oh how I laughed.

Also the 'head' mechanic was obviously dating the service receptionist (big tits) and every now and again he would pop into reception and sit casually looking at her, whispering and having the occasional kiss, it was very relaxing there, like being on holiday, without a care in the world.

When I got home, I found a small metal tyre lever on the battery, the engine oil was not up to maximum, the oil filler cap was just sat in the rocker cover (untightened) and they had lost one of the engine cover plastic screw caps.

Lazy fuckers.

I now either do it myself or use a very good independant of mine.

I think if your car is over 3 years old, the dealer don't care.

Oh yes, I now have only one engine cover cap left and all my bloody shiny wheel nut covers have gone the journey! Never again.

Having worked in a Renault main dealer for two weeks work experience i learned two things;

1) NEVER under ANY circumstances take my car to be fixed by a main dealer where you are parting with your own money

2) I learned to do the basic things the robbing bar stewards charge the earth for them to do "£80 for an oil change, I'd be a sucker not to!"
