Plodmobile breaking

Think i've pretty much sold on the idea on buying my mates Mondeo zetec 07 plate he has

Plodmobile is worth far more in parts so here goes.

Car is located in Hinckley, Leicestershire

17" alloys shod with 225/45/17 tyres - 2 tyres new in may, other 2 new in may '11
D8 leather interior in excellent condition, complete with seat ecu and wiring conversion - also includes wiring conversion for heated seats ( not tested though) and will come with switches, and D9 centre console
Exhaust which is a Powerflow, which is stainless steel boxes (joining pipe between tow boxes is mild steel) from a coupe modified to fit the 110 HDi engine
Rear Spoiler
Strut brace
D8 Coupe Leather steering wheel
Black Ash door trims
Black Ash dash trim and ashtray
Custom painted dash
Custom painted door handles ( front 2 excellent, back 2 have a chip each )
Indicator stalk was new 2 years ago
Wiper stalk with trip computer function - new 2 years ago
Radio stalk, new 2 years ago (D9 modified to fit D8)
5 clock dash with aluminum rings
Clear side repeaters
Rear calipers were reconditioned last year
I also have a pair of front calipers with new pads - the calipers look like new, but may have been reconditioned to a very high quality
HDi engine and box, with new clutch 7k ago - will include ECU wchich is remapped to 140bhp

MFD is trip computer compliant, and I think I have two of them, but need to check shed.

I've put in on here, and on 406 page on FB, and will give it a couple of days before listing on the bay

Just put the engine, and box complete with all ancillaries and ECU on ebay for £300 buy it now, which as above had a new clutch put in last year at cost of £330
If someone from here wants it, I will do for £280 and chuck in a brand new genuine bottom engine mount in to sweeten the deal
The fuel filter housing was new last year and cost me £54

Bit of a predicament
Do I buy the £35 wiring to get the car started to be able to show the engine running?

I've bought the wiring for £35 so I can get the car moving again to demonstrate the engine to potential buyers, and to get it back up home to break.

I guess it's more for conveinience and something else I can put back up for sale.

Due to this, I am not planning on starting to strip the car till next weekend

Hm, if you're selling the engine whole, then I guess you won't part with a glow plug relay? Mine has been out of action for the past two winters, making the car hard to start in sub-zero temps. With another winter looming, I'd like to get this part going.

That's pretty much the only thing I need, really! Unless you have a de-rattler for sale?!

Really don't like the idea of breaking the plodmobile, and had an idea

Thinking along the idea of a part exchange

i.e. if someone wants to turn up with their cloth D8 interior and pays me £130, i'll fit the leather and electric wiring into their car for them

Figured I could do this with the painted dash, the painted door handles, the black ash trim, the silver aluminum dash rings, and the alloy wheels, and maybe the zorst

Then sell the plodmobile as a going concern, minus the rear spoiler, and the strut brace and sell them seperate

One of the other reasons for doing it this way, is it turns out I can't get rid of the car until I do the plate transfer

Then I thought I could blow the car out which still has 6months ticket on it for about £450 maybe

As I say seems a shame to scrap it, and then someone can still smoke round in around a 150bhp diesel car for less then £500

I've just been on service pox, and the calipers including Vat are £315.54 and that's not including pads

Calipers have Lucas stickers on them with the pug lion on them, and the pads are genuine Lucas as well

Got to be a bargain for someone at £75 collected

Otherwise i'll whack em on the bay, but looking earlier the cheapest I could find were £72 EACH and that was for SBS which is an aftermarket version

I didn't really push this before xmas, as guessed peeps didn't have the money, but the car is still on my insurance till march so need to get stuff shifted now as procrastinated long enough

Dropped the price of zorst to £100
Leather can go for £90 - i paid £130 and it's still in as good as condition as I bought it, with bolster in good condition and no rips around seat switch

Need to get stuff shifted to open to offers on above stuff, and any other bits on the car.
So there is all the above stuff, plus bits like the rear calipers which were recon'd not too long back and I painted them up
I have a set of led bulbs for the rear I bought of Gary406 but never fitted
I've got a wiper arm puller which I bought for the car
Genuine mat set - although the drivers is quite worn and a hole has developed where my foot sat
