clutch hydraulics problem

Post by delvey »

Have a 2001 406 2.0l hdi 110.
The clutch decided to give up the go the other day. Had to be towed home. Anyway seemed like fluid was leaking from the slave cylinder, so this morning replaced it with a new one. However it is still leaking! I think the connector is knackered that fits into the clutch cylinder. Now is there any way to replace this or do I need to take all the piping off? The clip that connects the pipe does not seem tight enough either no matter what I do
Thanks

Hi there :cheesy:

Not had much to do with the clutch on one of these but there seems to be some sort of grommet there (#15):

Is this what you're looking at? If it is it's part 215615 which should be about 3 quid from Pug. For a bit of rubber? :frown:

The parts catalogue just says "seal" :? Ah - http://www.eurocarcare.net/clutch-control/215615.html
SMALL SEAL WHERE HYDRAULIC HOSE MEETS CLUTCH MASTER AND SLAVE CYLINDERS
Often drops out on removal of hydraulic pipe. If you don't notice and reassemble without it, you will make a little puddle.
That sounds like the culprit

Definitely wasn't a rubber seal there. Local pug has got one so hopefully that will solve the problem
Thanks
