We all love 406's but what do you hate about them?

I asked this question over a year ago on here and it was popular, now that we have loads more members I thought I would ask it again.......time to vent your frustration!!!!!

I'll start..

I hate:

• The handbrake
  My clutch
  The scabby boot badge
  The door cill rubbers
  The drippy door handles after you wash it
  The drippy wing mirrors '' ''
  The drippy rear lights '' ''
  The impossible-to-dry honeycomb front grille
  The 'rake' angle of the steering wheel
  The strange electrical feedback noise from the driver door mirror
  The faint knocking at the rear, but still passes MOT
  The easy-to-dent side panels
  The look of the rear end sometimes
  The 'cheap' feel to the centre console/handbrake suround (nasty plastic)
  The way the doors sound when you shut them (too light)
  The way the A/C won't stay 'OFF' when you tell it too
  The alarm goes off when it's windy

Over to you.....

The clunky gearbox (on all Peugeot's)
The cheap plastic handbrake surround

ELECTRICS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every single wire, connector ( that never stay connected ), switch, relay, etc, etc, etc, etc

Bloody nice car otherwise

Handbrake (duh)
Over-sensitive alarm
Automatic windscreen wipers
The fact the windscreen wipers don't work over 50mph
The fact only genuine Peugeot windscreen wiper blades will stay attached to the arms
The unmovable allen bolts on the rear brake calipers
The fact new footwell mats cost £50!
The inaccessibility of the oil filter on the turbo
Noisy blower when it's been running a while
Over-sensitive window safety thing which causes your window to open fully on the motorway when you're trying to shut the thing

ENGINE LIGHT!!! I think we'd struggle to find someone who hasn't had it at some time.

The way the interior light won't come on without the ignition on.
The way it's put together with Torx screwdriver bits.

couldnt agree more. Elecrtics are a apian and so damn expensive

pleus lets not forget those sily indicator swtiches....

Handbrake...usless for handbrake turns ....So I've heard

The clutch (cable link one is horrible)

The lack of power from my girly 1.8 makes the car feel v. slow n extremely heavy especailly with four passengers

Last of all.......the amount of money it costs me

I hate;

When you start up the CC is always on AUTO with A/C on
The splash trays that make servicing take ages
The puny 90bhp my engine develops
Automatic windscreen wipers with a mind of there own
Position of the fag lighter (I don't suppose Pug had these sat nav units envisaged when they designed it back in 94/5)

Don't like the handbrake much, it's got no feel to it
(I assume that's because of the weird drum brake thing inside the rear discs?)

Can't really think of much else TBH

Handbrake sucks - only engages on the last notch

Clutch - people who drive my 406 find it hard to get used to

Other than that - its one awesome car..I love my 406!

the trim ALWAYS breaks when you try and take it apart
the drivers seat base cant be tilted forwards enough

i could go on all day...

Hey, I forgot about the leccy rear windows, I get a horrible feeling if I lower them all the way down because it seems they will NEVER go back up

Good job they don't need opening that often (except when I'm cruzin wiv me matez)
