Cheers jaspers. ive Rang a place based in lancaster,
they said it dont have a cam belt its on a chain,
seller told me it was due a new cambelt as its at 78k on the miles
Not sure how long a chain shouid last but, the mech chap said there a Bullet proof engine it shouid go round the clock twice
the car is not a bmw but the running gear is, hence why ithought id find a bmw mech,
car is a 04 reg with the 2.0 CDTi 130bhp bmw powerd lump,

Re: Bmw,
Lozz has a Rover 75!
That's worse than a Volvo!
Wouldn't mind an MG ZT V8 though... Or any Rover 75/MG ZT with a V6 lump

Re: Bmw,
I actually think they are a really smart looking motor! Shame there is such an old man image to them!
I did actually go look at a silver MG ZT diesel. Was gorgeous!

Re: Bmw,
Had a soft spot for them a few years back, but eventually decided the 406 was a safer bet, they do look nice though.
I was parked behind one at the lights last week and noticed it said, 'CDTi 1 6 0' on the tailgate......

Re: Bmw,
ive had anosey on the rover forums,
they seem to suffer with the same problem as 406s, (eat front springs)
The ecu on them is sat in the bulk head where the water gathers, only bad thing ican see about them,

Re: Bmw,
There are some issues with this engine in BMW's lozz. The static equivalent of the 3.0's swirl flaps are known to break off the inlet manifold and get swallowed by the engine. Think I've heard of a few turbo failures too.
Mate of mine's got an early diesel 75, which has had a couple of lift pump problems, (apparently it's got two of them as there are two low points in the tank).
Saying all that, they do look smart and they are good value. You'd be OK, but someone that can't help themselves could wind up regretting it.

Re: Bmw,
Yeah theres two pumps on the early ones as the Early made l/p couidnt cope.
the 75 iwas looking at today is the facelift, one pump, so it says on the Forums,
as of the turbo ithink that shouid be fine, ivery much doubt the car as been near or over 70mph,

Re: Bmw,
Well, ididnt get the rover in the end,
been ill with the man flu, so imissed out on the bargain, hes sold it,
its seems they only do 29 ish to the mpg, so feck it i might as well look for something petrol powerd,
