Hi Allan! Welcome to the Volvo Owner's Club

I'm the opposite, I started off at this forum (having just bought a 1.8l 406 LX saloon) and then joined the Coupe Club for a look around when I was thinking of getting a Coupe. There's quite a few people here who are on both forums.

Unfortunately my old saloon got trashed the day I test-drove the Coupe by a white van man idiot who decided he wouldn't leave any of his insurance details, so that was a bit sour. Couldn't afford to fix it and it wouldn't really have been economical to do so anyway, so it got written off and sold to a local breaker's yard

Will have a good read of the forum very soon been way too busy with work. Looking for a solution to squealing brembos!
Also have a set of hoggars to sell. Is it ok to put an add on here? No problem if not they are just taking up too much garage space.

Hi Allan, i've been on both forums for several years now and it's friendly place regardless of Saloon/Estate/Coupe or even Volvo

Good luck with the brembo squeal as many people have tried! Mine are still fine luckily but i always use genuine front pads just incase!

hi nutski, yes i tried exactly that with my last coupe, genuine discs & pads but still it squealed! i then changed the discs to drilled and grooved, which seemed to reduce the squeal quite a bit but was then left with a heavy humming when braking, presumably the pad passing over the grooves/holes??

Yeah i have drilled and grooved discs on mine but with genuine Galfer pads, i can hear/feel when it runs over the grooves, might get normal discs next time!
