rough running,no power
Ever since day one my car has had a slight hesitation when accelerating, but today after jet washing my engine it was really bad and sounded like a v8,so after a few tests, pulled off the injector wiring plugs one by one,and found the two end ones had no effect on the engine when unplugging them,so removed em and stuck em back together.it has made a difference but still has no power and splutters like mad,but no management light now and sounds normal when ticking over.do you reckon it just needs to dry out now or summary.
Re: rough running,no power
it might need time to dry out if youve jet-washed the engine,
French cars dont like water,much
perhaps a Squirt of Wd40 here and there Might help,
Check the coil-pack/s havent got soaked, check conector for water ingress,
Also You might be best to replace the spark plugs, You never know how long theyve been in there if youve just recently bought the car,

Which kind of backs up my theroy that jet washing a modern engine with all it's fragile electronics is a really bad idea. Something along the lines of would you pressure wash your laptop?
I guess now it's a case of trying to dry it out? Could you park it somewhere dry and warm that might help it to dry? As has been said, some type of WD40 type spray can only help as well.

Yeah True,
water is no good where theres Electrics,
the Ecu's are not in a Guarded area too, Gamble there if your jetwashing
ijust use Wd40 or simalar and plenty of old rags for cleaning engine bay's.
oil seems to be good at removing oil

Re: rough running,no power
Funny story. My partner's brother had his mk3 Golf washed at one of those £5 hand car wash places, but he also wanted them to jetwash the engine, the guy was very reluctant to do this as he was aware of the risks involved with doing this. Anyway, the partner's brother insisted and the deed was done. 2 hours later, the poor car wash guy was still trying to get the car started, and months later the car would stall and fail to restart at all kinds of random places, had to rescue him once infact. I think autoglym sell a product specially for getting the engine bay and hoses e.t.c. looking all new again, might take longer but it won't hit you on the head like the lady indoors. Peace!
