Thats done it now ! Where are the buggers hiding these things...Rise up guys,DEMAND that these plates of chrome be exhumed from the dungeons (aka "parts") !
Right then, I've had a think about this for you lot. A quick search on ebay for "2004 406" and I find they've all got the chrome bit. I'm guessing your all phoning the dealer with your chassis number or reg and they're saying they can't find anything.
Try asking the dealers again, this time giving them one of these registration numbers. All of these cars have the chrome trim:
KX04 YCN
SJ04 UFN
YS53 JJE
BP53 TGV
Good Luck...

2007 307cc Sport 2.0 HDi 136
Gone but never forgotten: 2002 406 Coupe SE 2.2 HDi
Yes it appears that all of the last 2004 406's were fitted with these. It is always the case with final cars off the productin line, manufacturers always fitting the nicer trim in order to boost final sales.
The 406 SE is a very nice car, with very nice spec.
I removed my black grille yesterday for a looky looky:
There are no fixing holes present (not really a problem as they could be drilled if needed)
The Black grille sits tight on the bumper and there are 3 locating lugs that lock it into the bumper but it looks like that chrome trim slides under the black grille so there might not be room for it to fit
We need Playtime to have a look at whether the chrome bit goes under the black grille or just butts upto it?
If the black grille sits on top of the chrome bit then we will need a different grille aswell and the grille fixings, and even the bumper locating lugs could be different

Neil, the chrome bit is 'let out' for the badge, but I can't tell whether the chrome trim goes under the black bit of the grille bottom edge, I think it would have to tuck under the grille even just to conceal the fixings? my point is that, at the moment, there's no spare gap for it to fit in.

Well gents, I've had a look and as far as I can see, the chrome bit just sits under the front edge of the grille, ie, the chrome bit goes under the grille for little way, not much, maybe 3-4 mil.
I can't see any kind of lugs coming from the bottom of the grille.
Hope this is of some use, If anyone would like some close up pics I'll see what I can do!
Play.....thanx 4 that....query: if it "just sits there" what keeps it in postion, and what fixing would be needed for an "aftermarket" addition to a D9 that didnt have it in the first place ! cheers
Sorry I haven't done he pics yet fellas, had a busy weekend gigging and I've felt like crap! I haven't even washed the motor and that is very bad for me.
