forgive me for being cynical but i had some tattoo's done a while ago(long time really 25 years or so)
AND THEY DONT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE THEY DID THEN'
in the first ten/fifteen years they look great, ink still bright, crystal clear but after that they become dull and become blurred to the point you can read the writing and what looks good at eighteen(as i was) doesnt look quite the same at 40 or so
naked women in my case can be a bit embarrassing in the swimming pool

but that said each to there own and everyone makes there own choices
i base my opinions on my own life experiences 8)

Inks and application are far better than they were years ago, having said that a lot of it is to do with the quality of work and how you look after it,i've seeb work done by Ian of Reading nearly 30 years ago that still looks fresh and clean. One key thing is to make sure you protect ink in the sun with a minimum factor 40 and don't forget to keep it moisturised, most ink that faces and goes funny is because these simple things weren't done
