so...earlier this week i had the multiplug issues under the throttle
cleaned it as best i could with contact cleaner and then ran compressed air through it
now though...the car seems very dead under 2.5k revs
i really have to floor the thing to make it go!
on hills that normally i approach in 3rd gear i find myself having to go to 2nd
i know a 90 brake is no rocket but this is bad
only thing im wondering if i interrupted anything on the throttle cable while doing the multi plug fix although the cable seems fine
does anyone know if the multi plug is related to the MAF?

The one under the carpet? No, it's analogue straight to the engine ecu. The ecu is connected to the BSI by the VAN bus (I think, it's multiplex anyway) so there is a chance there's still something going on there, however it does sound more like the MAF is actually goosed. Btw is the injection Bosch or Seimens?

Sounds like your throttle position sensor has failed.

Re: Sluggish 90 brake hdi
can anyone tell me that the outer sleeve of the throttle cable seems to be very loose in the actual linkage up at the air breather
at a glance,i recken im missing a clip from the cable but im unsure.
only im on my own,i need somebody who knows a little to watch the throttle operation when i work the pedal but id guess the outer casing of the cable is slipping on me
will investigate everything
that dam multiplugs for the chop first

Re: Sluggish 90 brake hdi
latest,i went out and looked at the throttle cable where it goes into the tps
no clip on the outer casing to hold it in position and keep the correct tension on the cable
did a temporary tape up job, took car for a run and all 90 horsies seem to be there now
i guess the senser wasnt in synch with the fuel system because the clip was missing.
does anybody know where i can get the clip online?

Re: Sluggish 90 brake hdi
to get the clip you may have to get the cable, i would go to the beakers yards when its not snowing and in the mean time make a clip that will work.
