After only a week of ownership I’m already stuck with a fault so I wonder if anyone can help?
The reversing lights were intermittent in operation so I have removed the connector to the gbox switch and shorted out the contacts making the light come on, hey-presto faulty switch. But in doing so I also managed to short one side to ground and now the circuit is dead. The manual tells me that fuse 1 under the bonnet is the one but this is fine and even swapping it over with another will not cure the fault. But worse still the car will turn over but will not now start. I've checked every fuse under the steering wheel and bonnet including the bigger hidden ones and all are OK but I’m stumped, so has any one else encounter a problem such as this?

Hi,

First thing id try is a BSI reset, there is a guide or two on that subject on the Forum,
Is the imob light going out?.

Can you hear the lift pump,when ign is on ?.

Check the Red emergency cut-off switch under the bonnet - towards the right hand side on the rear bulkhead/suspension strut - you may have accidentally 'tripped' this switch somehow.

Thanks for the quick responses.
I’ve had a look but I can not find the fuel cut off so Im not sure if this car has one.
I’ve been having a further play this afternoon, from the resistance to ground I’ve assumed the pink wire to the reversing light switch is the one to the lights and indeed when I connect this to live via a suitable fuse and the reversing lights come on.
Taking this step further I’ve scotched a wire to the feed to the switch (white wire) and connected this to the fused side of the No1 engine bay fuse which the peugeot hand book tells me is the one which does reversing lights oil level (which still shows a level) and double injection relay to back feed in to the circuit. Now I can hear the pump kick in when I turn the ignition on which was not the case before and the engine will run. Also the reversing lights do work so it was probably just a loose connection anyway.
However, now the head lights are permanently on and the dash board head light indicator flashes, the car does not have auto lights as far as I know.
Logic says that there is a fuses blown that I can not find but the hayne's manual does not make a lot of sense so does anyone have the correct wiring diagram for my car?
I can trace the white wire from the switch to the fuse box but there is no continuity between it and No1 fuse terminals so is there something inside the box that could have blown (relay?) or am I just on the wrong fuse?

The inertia-cut off switch is on the passenger side, (red) button,
Ipresume the Headlights and indicators will be flashing Because the BSI will be getting over-rided at certain points,

Becareful there, the BSI unit is easy to Fry, :(

oh dear, I now know what the BSI unit is/does, attempting a reset did nothing so this is sounding expensive

Have you checked the fuses on the Bsi unit?

if irember correctly - there's 6 or 7 fuses,

Any joy? According to the diagram it's fuse 4. There's 4 1.8s, any chance of a vin?

The feed for the reversing lights goes through the BSi (I've no idea why) so this might be why the system is doing strange stuff...

No no joy yet, It's still sat in the naughty corner of the drive way. I dont understand why the BSI unit is involved going by the Haynes diagram or why it is not just the fuse thats blown either. Im contemplating either getting an auto ellectrician call out or taking it to a peugoet specialist

My tales of wow have now deepened; I have not been able to find the key for a week so I can’t even open the door now. In 20 years of driving I’ve never lost a car key so buying a car with one key did not bother me, until now. I’m hoping that when the snow melts it will turn up in the garden. Anyone know how I can at least get the doors open?
I’m now thinking that the fault has to lie with the BSI unit if the fuses are OK so if I can get hold of a complete ecu/bsi/locks and keys set I’ll change the lot. Would anyone fit and then need coding or does it have to be from the same size engine/body?

Oh my gawd :( I don't think you'll get into it without damaging something I'm afraid.

There are a few different BSIs, I suspect it's more to do with the age but I'm not 100% on that. I think you can code one to your ecu using Planet.

Not sure how you wouid get in tbh,
as the doors will be deadlocked id guess :( if the dead locks wasnt on then you might had a chance at pulling back the door alittle
and get some plastic door wedges in the gap enough to get a coat hanger around the door handle,

Worst case scenario, grab a door window off a breaker 10-15 quidish and smash one of the windows :(

or If youve got the key code, ring round some lock smiths,
