List of people who remap

Post by paulm »

Would it be worth stickying a thread of people who remap cars so they could be contacted easily instead of having to ask who does it,maybe with reccommendations from people who have used them, also perhaps a list of people with PP who are prepared to help people in need of some diagnostics, just a thought......

I do my own remaps, I've got a genuine pp2000, and I can do mileage correction and immobiliser removal.

I'm also rather busy, but I can fit jobs in here and there to help out.

Would recomend HDi Tuning from Bristol. He remapped my lads 90, went from a slug to quite quick for an estate. Had it done at his house followed by an on road drive with it plugged into laptop so that he could monitor readings from ecu and check everything was working as it should.
Good value and he also remaps via email.

This is a good idea,it would help a lot of people out there with their 406.
diesel and petrol remapping, good and bad sides of it,what to look out when remaping etc etc.
I remember when i was searching entire internet for a petrol turbo remap in order to get clear if it would engine work or turbo would seize in a matter of weeks.

Not much interest then???? Ok just an idea,so in that case can anyone reccommend someone in or around the Leicestershire area for remaps? If i'm gonna do it i would rather pay some one on here than go to a tuners.

I think the other thing is that for those lucky enough to have a Bosch ECU (i.e. almost everybody), it's a DIY job.

That said, I have a Siemens ECU and I'm on the lookout for a remap. Seeen a place in Rotherham that looks good.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

I remapped my Siemens ECU, the info is out there but it's not as easy to come across as it is for Bosch.

If i knew how to do it i wouldn't be asking.............,also isn't this forum for anything to do with 406's?? not everyone wants standard cars and remaps can also help with economy.

I agree this forum is about all things 406 and there's nothing wrong with discussing remaps IMHO. I reckon the majority of us are happy to help where we can, but try to resist waffling on when we don't have anything useful to add. We're not over-endowed with expertise in this area.

I could very probably offer you some help and advice about 2.2's and possibly a little about 110's, but 90's I really know nothing much about. Looks like RobTurbo could be the man to talk to there.....
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

As said, Bosch EDC15 is really easy and cheap to work on (Galletto1260), you can DIY with no problem. Siemens sid 80x is more of a problem.

EDC15s what? Depends on the engine...
Maps to be good have to be 100% custom to a single car, generic maps are utter crap. All cars behave differently.
