I have a 406 1.6 petrol with an XU5JP engine.
When i want to start the car you hear nothing not even a click of a relais or starter.
Battery is in good condition.
Where can i find the relais of the starter?
Where can i find the 406 Haynes on the internet?

Hey!
I can hear the fuel pump, so that's ok.
I've already checked all the fuses but normally there must be a relais which gives current to the starter.

Hi there, welcome
I suspect you have the board's first 1.6, where are you from? What year was your car made in?
I don't think starter motors have a separate relay as such, because they have one built-in - the solenoid (automat?) If it's not even clicking then maybe it's not stuck (do the lights dim at all when you try to start it?) so perhaps you need to check there is a supply to the solenoid when you try to start it.

Re: 406 wont start???
sorry carnt help much im at work until 7:30am
so icarnt dig out any info,
iagree with steve, Im not sure if there is a Relay for the starter,
ithought they where just fused .
there is the brown double relay but that controls the fuel pump too so it carnt be that
**put the headlights on and get an assistant to turn the ignition key, see if the lights dim
if so, problem will be the starter motor or wiring,
Check earth strap too, easy way to check that is to put a jump lead from the negative post on the battery to a good earthing point on the engine
or gearbox,
ignition barrel couid be another cause,
