pp2000 and down on power

Hi lately my 99 hdi 90 kept cutting out which seems to have stopped but now is down on power the eml has been on since I got it but with no limp mode at present. I have herd people saying that the maf could be playing up was thing of taking it out giving it a clean but have no ideas where it is a pic would be helpful also was gonna get a pp2000 as delear price is the same and could just keep plugging it in. Have no idea how to use one and where to plug it in all advise welcome or if any1 in the maidstone area got 1 and wanna give me a hand would be much appreciated. Only had this car for 2month and fell in love with it first time I drove it. Paid 550 few dents and marks from age but who cares when your on a tight budget and need a family car.

see the picture ive marked the Maf with a yellow X
ignore the pipe with the red line, yours wont have that with it being a 90.

Becareful cleaning the Maf there abeit fragile, abit of carb cleaner will do the job,
just let it evaporate properly before fitting it back,

or to test just unplug the connector from the Maf
if it runs better with it unpluged itl be faulty if not plug it back in
