Top Engine Mount

Post by DRTDVL »

Hi guys,

My top engine mount has decided to go pop and I need to replace it... Peugeot NZ quoted me $260 nod for the mount... No I didn't buy it...

I've heard mixed comments about some aftermarket mounts where some sag once the engine weight is put on it and some fatigue quickly. I'm wondering if any of you have had any experience with aftermarket mounts and if you can recommend an online store to get one from.

Sorry I always refer to the cam belt side as the top mount.

I did both top right engine mountings on my car. The pillow was replaced with a Febi Bilstein and the arm with two bush's in it was a QH brand. Both mounts made very noticeable improvements and haven't disintegrated so far. Within the small circle of mechanics I talk to the general rule is that anything From Febi is good quality. I would say you should be able to pick one up on ebay.co.uk easily enough.

Be aware that there were two different top mountings, they changed in something like 1999.
