TBH I'm a bit out of my depth here. I think the type of tester you mean is for checking injectors from mechaical injection, (non-common rail), engines?
Assuming it's the right range, (the one I looked at was 600 Bar), you might be able to borrow / connect the gauge to your fuel rail, perhaps in place of the pressure sensor, for the sake of a quick test. (I'm just trying to think of a way of determining if your HP pump is working, before you go to all the trouble of removing it).
