Mouse trap

There seems to be a mouse in the attic above my room, i can hear something running up there and scratching and leaving droppings behind.

Ive tried using normal mouse traps, set 3 using fudge, crunchy and cheese, but the fecker seems to be able to eat the food without setting them off (just cheap wooden ones from the petrol station)

What way does everyone else use to catch a mouse.

Cheese and all that are no good on the trap's.
Mice are crafty,

stick some peanut butter on it, the trap will nail it then,


Polecat/ferret. will sort em, but tie a Magic tree airfreshner too it first before letting one loose, or it might stink the place out,

Seen ferrets today at the car bootsale, the smell that comes off them even from a distance is horrible.
The dog is very good at killing mice but at 5 stone too heavy to lift into the attic, and the last cat died 2 years ago.

Ill give the peanut butter a go

The question is whats a mouse doing in the attic, its colder up there than it is outside some days, and there is no food lying about to eat.

They normaly go in lofts to have there young,
if you have any insulation of any form they will nest in it,

the peanut butter shouid work mice love it,

our youngest cat has caught 3 mice this week, once the warmer weather comes, hopefully we will see less of
the pesky mice,,

I have no idea sorry I can't help.........
I do remember Dad setting a trap in our loft then come Christmas he had completely forgotten the trap was there and found a mouse skeleton
I am thankful I don't have a mouse problem, did in 2008 but that was because the ex had loads of crap in the garden that attracted them..

I do however, have a serious slug problem...... Anyone else?

Getting back to the cheese on trap thing: It worked for us in 2008... Hope you get rid of your little problem and that the mouse has not gone up there to have babies

I couldnt find peanut butter last night we dont normall buy it, but i got a bit of ordinary butter from the fridge.
I checked there a few minutes ago to see if anything was caught and hey presto:


There is still another trap live as you can see in the photo.
I left the mouse outside the dog wont touch it, hopefully the crows or an owl will get it

I don't know where they are getting in though, I think by the patio door but they are always in the kitchen, created a salt wall by the washing machine........

Slugs can get in at the slightest hole, there spineless so can get in gaps you wouidnt think of,
there horrible slimy things ihate them there like snot , Hedgehogs will eat them, adopt a hedgehog
