I use Imigram nasal sprays, very good. 2 in a pack. Or Naramig tablets.
If I go to bed and know I am going to wake up with a migraine I take a Naramig, wake up fresh as a daisy. If I've woken with a migraine or have an attack during the day I use the Imigran spray, excellent stuff but tastes bad when it drips down your throat. The spray typically totally clears a migraine in 1 hour. Both are on repeat prescription. Tramodol doesn't work for me as I am on 8 a day, every day and have been for years. They are also habit forming.

I have a big aversion toward any medical solution.
They dont know absolutely anything.I remember i had a big problem with ingrown toe nails,500 doctors,500 different solutions, most of them goes contrary to the previous doctors advice.

Have a cold shower every evening before sleep,it is refreshing and keeps healthy body. Also to suplement that i drink schnaps,(dont know what is the english word for that, but some strong alcohol drink, similar to vodka)just a little bit, half of small glass.
I was sick from flu, migraines,my back hurted, heavy breathing, eye redness, ingrown toe nails, also bunch of alergic reaction to everything...
First one get the flu always, but as i say, today, with this shower and that alcohol,i am good for a year and a half now.,personal record.
Been out with my hair wet, without jacket on a snowy cold winter days, walking in T-shirt on wind,my backs wet from work on wind, sleepingb almost naked always....still nothing, healthy as a battleship.
So,i feel i must share this simple thing i do but do keeps me in a good shape.
I dont know how it would affect on other people, but it worths trying,as far as i know, alternative solutions always beats those butcher shops they call hospitals.

I need two triggers mainly, stress is the main one, plus the wrong food - cheese, chocolate etc. even avocado for some reason. I can usually get away with one but both at the same time is deadly.

So anyway yes, I used to have one or two a week, the wife said that wasn't on so I've been for blood tests, eeg etc. etc. What they reckoned is my triglycerides were way too high, so I've had to cut down on the bad stuff, I've had accupuncture (sitting for an hour reading a book with pins stuck all over me) and I've tried all the pulls, they reckon not all of them work on everyone but the ones that do me are Zomig. I avoid stress as much as I can too. I had one migraine last year. I still get a lot of bad headaches but they're never going to drive me to contemplate suicide.

Dark room, Radio 4, lavender. Showers are good too, Old Spice original is a good smell, for some reason.

What is your blood pressure doing when you have these nose bleeds Lozz?

My blood pressure is generally low (as is my blood temp) which they tell me is common among migraine sufferers.

I used to think sometime that if the pain got any worse something would break in my head, I read somewhere a while back that you can stroke because of a migraine  Worth dealing with I reckon.

Would they do that for migraines? I don't know, I never went to the quack in GB with mine (my dad reckoned because they couldn't do anything for his or my mum's they wouldn't be able to do anything for mine  ).

I guess you have enough on your plate just now (stress, right there) but it must be worth trying to do something about it when you can.

I ended up in hospital last week with a serious migrane and they fed me on a diet of cocodamol. It was like being in a big happy furry bubble 8)

Generally day to day if I have one comming I mix Ibubrofen and Paracetamol.
Take 2 Ibubrofen wait two hours and take 2 paracetamol, wait 2 hours and take ibubrofen, wait to hours take two paracetamol etc etc.

Sorry to hear that sam,

Your migraine's must be as bad as mine then, if you went to the hospital,
iaint a fan of hospital's so istay away from them when ican, Because ionly end up wasting there time, a day /hour perhaps and il sighn my self out,
As icarnt stand looking at other people that are ill, makes me feel worse than istarted off,

Last time iwas in hospital, they wouidnt let me sighn my self out tho,
ended up on a ward with some realy posh chap, he was an airline pilot, and kept on shouting at the nurses,Let me go home ineed to be at work tommorow
i have to fly to corfu or what ever, and then he started accusing other paitients of stealing his watch and wallet, his bro took it home with him for safe keeping
it turned out his last flight was taken 5 years before, poor chap lost his marbles and was stuck in some sort of time warp, :frown:

so for every paitient that had came in with stomache problem etc, went home with serious brain problems because this chap had done there heads in.

Sorry to hear you suffer with Migraines. Without going into too much detail I am disabled and confined to a wheelchair on those 'bad days' so I am on a regular prescription of Tramadol - which I admit, like you do not help my migraines!
I use that 4head stuff and good old Nurofen, and it usually helps! My problem is I keep on going and refuse to take tablets then when it gets too bad I admit defeat and take them - you men are not the only stubborn ones

Written on here a few times about the Vascular Migranes I suffer with. It's not necceserally the pain that bothers me. When I get them I get aggiteded, lethargic and quite often get quite confused. On the rare occasion I loose the sight in my right eye.

Usually they only last for 2-3 hours. Go to sleep for an hour with pleanty of pain killers and they dissapeer. Sometimes you can feel them go like something has just 'popped'. Quite an awesome feeling when that happens, you get a popping sensation then it feels like water is running down the back of your kneck and all my symptoms receed.

Last Monday I was pulling in a 4 core 70mm armoured cable and it knocked me for six. All day Tuesday you could feel it lingering and I was not myself although very little pain. Just an odd stab here and there down the right hand side of my face.
Wednesday morning I woke up unable to focus with my left eye and no vision what so ever in my right so had no choice but to go to hospital. :frown:

Thing is it's comming increasingly obvious that I'm physically not able to be an electrician long term due to it. Going to have to get a degree of some sort ASAP after finishing my apprenticehsip and get a less physical job.
You don't get any sympathy on a building site, people can see I'm ill and they just think it's a cracking idea to rip the piss into me.

Anyway, now that sob story is over...
