Help requested

Post by gms359 »

Hi - new to the world of 406's but not to diesel's (had C220 previously).

Got the 406 2.2 Hdi estate for the economy & to fit the dog in.

It is flashing up on the trip computer clean dpf urgent message - sporadically.

I have had a read on here about remapping to "remove" the DPF, then physically disconnecting some sort of connector?

As you tell I am not mechanically minded.

Can someone recommend where i can get this done for me, i am in NN8 postcode.

Thanks in advance

Hi & welcome to the forum. 8)

Have you read my howto? viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12487

I can help you with all but the physical removal of the element, (some of the guys have found an exhaust place prepared to do that bit for £20-30 if you don't want to attack it yourself).

Let me know if you want any help or info, (I'm at NN17).
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I have a local friendly garage who can likely do the physical knock the innards out. I'd be grateful if you could do the electronics bit. can you do that then i get the innards removed? If you let me know how much & we can make arrangements.
