Hoping somebody can help me with this.
Got a 99 Peugeot 406 Rapier 1.9 TDi which has a problem with the drivers front window. Common fault so I've found out and I've bought a replacement switch which hasnt helped so I'm looking to track down the problem.
When I press up on the switch a hear a click click. When I press the down on the switch I hear nothing. So I'm wondering could this be:
a) Just a stuck window? I've tried to push it down when pressing but didn't want to do that too much - would greasing the rubbers work?
b) A damaged motor? If so, how would I test that.
I know this is an age old problem and the switch going is a common fault but I have a working switch that is not working on my car so it's something else.
Any help at all appreciated. Bit of a car DIY newbie but happy to try (almost) anything!

Hi,
check the wiring in the door loom, look for broken or chaffed wire/s
you dont have to dismantle the door to check, just pull the rubber boot back,
failing that, take door card off and inspect the Motor, Multimeter Might be your friend their,
