Bullet connectors are also fine, perhaps easier to get hold of but a tad more difficult to mate/unmate. As long as it's a solid, well insulated and strain relieved connection, go for whatever you can get your hands on!

Yep, the connectors will either be press fitted into the metal frame (just pull them out) or cable tied on (cut and replace).

I shall have to have another look in the light, I think they were just pressed into it but didn't want to be forceful as knowing my strength I do more harm than good, bull in china shop scenario!

Just don't pull every wire out & reconnect with the bullets. Do one wire at a time (cut it either side of the plug) & connect with the bullets until the flashing light goes out. If I'd known about your plight a few months earlier, I probably would have had a complete seat wiring set that you could have had to use for trial & error as I had a bare seat frame sat in the shed (along with lots of other bits). As it stands I still have a fair few small 406 bits in there, but the larger stuff ended up at the dump to make space for the Xmas stash.

My post from all the bits I had is probably still floating around in the for sale section. Didn't get many takers for anything though.

I was assured that we didn't need 7 seats anymore as the Irish contingent wouldn't be making too many trips over, & was also told that we didn't need an estate as we'd had the 406 for 2 years & the dogs never went in it.

So I got this (which was something I'd always wanted ever since they came out):

Once the 406 was sold I learned that a 2 ton 3 litre diesel with an auto gearbox only does 18mpg around town (& can also turn the driver into a bit of a hooligan), so I did the math using this:

& found that I would actually save money over 12mths by putting £1500 on top of the Beemer & getting a Partner/Berlingo.

Now that plan's been screwed by the renewed requirement for the occasional extra seats.

You cannot use Anderson power pole connectors for airbag connections.



Any connection on an airbag system must, when disconnected, automatically short out the two cables feeding the airbag. This is done primarily to prevent the air bag detonating when being disconnected and the secondary purpose is to show zero ohms resistance to the airbag ECU should a fault develop within the wiring of the airbag system.



You must utilise the correct original connections or you could create more problems than you already have.



Most vehicle manufacturers do sell plugs and sockets to fit their wiring looms. If you get no joy with Peugeot, I know for a fact that Mercedes sell all their plugs and sockets separately. You just need to find a Mercedes parts dealer who will be happy to spend some time locating some suitable plugs and sockets but they must be for the airbag system, other wise they will not have the shorting link across the two pins.

What are your thoughts people?

Decision made: Going to just solder them together and tape up using coloured tapes so I know what was what.
I honestly can't be bothered with this connection thing, IF the seat ever needs to be removed it will have to be cut!

Will be a LOT easier to do it this way than fanny about (technical term that) with trying to find the right connection boxes and colours................

I am kind of wishing I hadn't started playing with the electrics but I hope it's an easy fix, just waiting on the kit.

Luckily, a very kind member off of here is donating some unused tools my way (Thank you, you know who you are!)

I am also waiting on the following:
* 3/8 drive 19mm socket (No longer needed but still hasn't turned up)
* Crimping / Cutter cable strippers, pliers
* Soldering Gun
* Solder wire (though I bought some yesterday in case the gun arrives before the wire, You know how impatient us women can be)
* Mixed colours electrical insulation tape
* 38 piece ratchet screwdriver bit set

As previously said, I won't be bothering with putting connectors on the air bag electrics, I have got so pissed off with not being able to find what I need so have given up. I asked my mechanic friend(ish) advice and he works in a garage and said they always just solder it up as it's cheaper, and made the fair point: not many people want to remove the front seat anyway. Usually if people need more space they put down the back row of seats - which, is true! I can see why Peugeot made the seats removable, but I physically can't find the 'right type' of connectors anywhere. MAYBE in the future I will find what I am looking for and do this job again, but at the moment I just need something to get the AIRBAG light to stop flashing it's sexy ass off at me.

I have all the kids this weekend so I presume, unless the gun and tape arrive today, all jobs now postponed until Monday.

I've updated the broken Photobucket links that I could find on here. As far as the rest of the list goes, I haven't got any digital pics of any car I owned before the 306 (think I have a few traditional pics of the old Beemers, 406 & Granadas though). Everytime I sold a car since the Hilux it got a full on clean followed by photos of all angles & defects ready for advertising online.

More help needed pretty please:



Obviously the blue wire needs soldering to a yellow wire, and the pink wire needs soldering to the other yellow wire.
My question is this: Does it matter which yellow cable gets hooked to blue / pink?

I need to be 100% sure before I do this and whilst I believe it doesn't matter which yellow I am dealing with an explosive here so need to be 100% sure..............

It probably doesn't matter but I wouldn't take the risk. See if you can read the numbers on all four of the cables, then check a wiring diagram.

In future, it's best to make a note before you cut them
