New Sparks and Leads.....

Post by niz406 »

Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd let you know I've just brought the new plugs and leads for a great price of £71.50 delivered !!!!!!!

LOL no I'm not crazy ..... they are NGK Iridium IX plugs and Magnecore 8mm performance leads, broght them from Spark Plugs UK really good price and super service / turn around !!!!!!

Next Modifications on the list... 330ccc injectors and a 2.5 or 3 bar map sensor.

those leads will do fook all niz, the idea of them is to allow more spark voltage, which is useless, as you need a certain about of restriction to maintain perfect ignition timing, and tbh, if its not misfiring i would never change the leads, but if they are the blue ht leads i will understand 8)
as for the plugs i would have gone for denso iridium plugs as they perform better on a turbo than the ngk's, have you had your car remapped niz? if not i would think of going down this route next and run it on shell v power or bp ultimate

It is the blue one's lol and I've developed a misfire, so changing the plugs and the leads as one noormally would.... only this time I decided to go for some decent ones.....

The sparks are quality.... I stuck with the original manufacturer of the cars standard plugs and so when I replaced them last I used the NGK, so this time it was only right that I upgrade to the Iridium ones... I say this because they only cost me £10 more than the last set :D so I'm happy..

As for the remap, the plan is to get the injectors, 2.5 or 3 bar map sensor and then the intercooler and hard pipes sorted before a trip to superchips for an afternoon !!!! :D

I intend on sourcing all the bits first and then putting it all together, ready for the rollers.

it might be worth thinking about a 1.9 td 'box, as it has a much looooonger final drive and is a bit more robust, or get a torsen diff, or lsd but then it wont go round corners :P
