Re: Changed engine now won't start
Not sure how it worked to be honest lozz but it did? I was getting fuel pressure according to planet. Someone mentioned that it might be spinning over to slowly, which in fairness mine was so I bought a new battery but that didn't help so I thought f@&k it I might as well try it.

Don't try it for long. I've heard it's not good to turn the HP pump without fuel as it's the lubricant too. A few people have siezed the HP pump, snapped the cam belt, etc, etc, etc.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: Changed engine now won't start
Can you hear the fuel pump running when you switch the key to "on"? Its a buzzing sound from your rear seats.
Anything lighting up on your clocks? Like a key-in-door symbol?
Apperently a common fault on 406' is a broken wire in the cluster going to the ECU.
This is rare, but have you tried reprogramming the keys with planet?
Why do I ask this? Because I spent a month trying to get a 406 to start last summer:)
Oh, edit: You need Peugeot Planet to read the OBD stuff. Not standard OBD2.

I have had, and still am having a nightmare with my car.
Try towing it to start it (unless its an automatic).
Apparently, the cams can go into sleep mode and forget how to start. Towing wakes them up again???
I was a bit sceptical when i got told but i had tried everything else so thought what the hell, I nearly
peed my pants when she started!!!![]()
Still got big problems with the car now but she starts with the key now evertime.......just doesnt stay like that for long
I am having issues with starting, why has nothing else on the internet told me about this mysterious "sleep mode" omg.....
hope that you are my saviour and the blighter gets going again after a tow
Re: Changed engine now won't start
in reply to the fuse question for the OBDII port it's fuse 001 in the box under the bonnet behind battery, cant remember the A but think it was a 15A on mine.
