Diesel Leaking
Since owning the 406 last week was the first time i have fueled it to the top. I started to notice what looked like bits of oil on the car park. Oil levels are fine and i could not see anything from the front of the car. Yesterday i had a look under the rear of the car and i can clearly see diesel sitting on the bottom of the tank. After driving i get a few drips but then it stops so it's not a constant loss it seems to be more after movement. I lifted the rear seat to check the pump and the top of it is wet with diesel. Both pipes appear to be tight on and i can't find any splits...just puzzled as to why it's leaking and if the diesel that i see dripping off the bottom of the tank is caused by it running down from the pump?

Re: Diesel Leaking
there is a seal round the pump if that has been dislodged then it will leack
Re: Diesel Leaking
Looking at the pump there is a metal collar around it...looks like it will twist off. Is the seal under that collar or do you have to lift the pump? is it okay to remove the collar with a full tank? Sorry for all the questions, just dont want to stuff it up as it drives superb.

no don't open it with a full tank you will have diesel every where, yep the seal is round the lp so take the metal collar off
Re: Diesel Leaking
Cheers mate....i'll just have to run it until i get the diesel down a bit....does this seal have to be replaced or is it just a case of reseating it?
