Disappearing Cars?

Post by Sonia406 »

Ok - we owned a Roland Garros 806 that we sold on when the 2nd head blew......

DVLA Vehicle enquiry come up with NOTHING and there is nothing on the MID (motor insurance database: a friend looked for me)

What has happened to this car?
With my first car, I sold it knowing it was going OFF ROAD as a track car, and even ''scrapped cars'' have come up with the last date of liability as many years ago but on this car and registration, there are simply no details.............

Why have the DVLA and the MID got NOTHING on the car registration number? Has anyone else had this happen?

P.s My second car is 21 years old this year and still on the roads in Wales............. I knew she was a good one when I sold her

When i had my suzuki samurai just for the sake of it i typed in the registration, it was a proton, the plates didnt match what the log book had as the registration, they were off by one letter.

Out of interest though with a registration how do you find out if a car is still on the road or if its scrapped, id be interested to find out if my mums old 106 is still running.

Do a vehicle enquiry via DVLA : here
Look for the date of liability, if it is an upcoming date, for instance, May 2013 - it's on the road...... If it says date of liability, 1991 for example its probably scrapped..............

I wonder if the car in question with me has been exported, because then the DVLA would have no need to keep it on system?

Try a website called ' howmanyareleft.com' or something like that.
Surprising how many some of the cars I used to own are on there. Should have kept them all in a barn as a little nest egg for the future....

Apparently 241 of those still on the road, just wanted to know where our baby was now......
Does the DVLA still keep records of cars that are exported? I honestly think that maybe she's been exported
