Somebody probably decided that we already have a surplus of dipsticks in the world...
Know what you mean though. Personally I don't trust all these computers monitoring it. You've only got to see the amount of times the Peugeot/Citroen oil level indicators flash up as no oil (when there's plenty in there) to see that it's better to be able to physically check.
2000/X Peugeot 406 110 HDi LX Family 93k to 2000/W BMW 530D SE Auto 84k to 2003/03 Peugeot Partner Hdi Escapade 98k to 2003/53 Vauxhall Zafira DTi Elegance 74k
It's not a car, it's an appliance. The casing should not be opened; there are no user serviceable parts. Now run along to the dealer and get your wallet out.
When I read the topic I assumed it was another rant at Halfrauds.........
2003 2.2hdi estate - mine 1998 Volvo 940 auto estate - also mine 2019 Citroen C3 something - the wife's PP2000 user, can help with faults / diagnostics in the Bournemouth area.
Looking at the picture, and remembering your drive has a crazy incline I'm guessing the car was far from 'level' which probably threw the computings a bit?
I remember my Mazda MX6 was a *pig* to check the level, every time you looked it was different it had to be stood perfectly level for at least overnight to get anywhere near an accurate reading even then there was another Mazda Forum member who ended up with 11ltrs of oil in his motor because of this

I was about to say it may be something to do with the drive not being level... I remember the original thread
Great minds think a like........
I was also going to say, it's a ford, what do you expect?
That screenshot doesn't look like a Ford..... And certainly not a Mondeo.
Anyway, I find the oil level indicator on my 406 quite handy. It appears every time I start the car and it's instant. Quite handy for a quick oil level check without getting your hands dirty under the bonnet. Even my 2004 all singing, all dancing Honda Accord didn't have that! Maybe that's why it died?
Now, if only we can convince Sam not to ever visit Halfrauds again....
It's my fathers 3 series.
It takes the same amount of time regardless of the slope

This girls only interested in the lions baby

Hey, now there's no need for that
I think dedicated and obsessed describes it well actually
And anyway, I joined a 406 forum to see loads of sexy little lions
My eyes are just for the lions
There isn't a dipstick on the BMW! You have to rely completely on the iDrive system.
