"Difficulties with understanding and learning" says the wife, sorry to hear that, although you seem to be picking up the car stuff ok. I think I have a similar problem with things that don't interest me, like economics, politics and languages, anything else I absorb like a sponge. I never got on with history because I could never remember dates, I can remember what happened and who did it but when it was is beyond me.

Yep... Makes up part of my condition, I have to learn things at least 3-4 times over for it to absorb and even then I get patchy..
Should of heard me the other day when I said to my friend I needed a gerry can so I could get a ''pint of petrol'' for the car
It definitely boils down to those things I really want to learn about and I have no desire at all to understand or even listen about politics, what more is there to understand? They always have and always will be out to screw us all over ... no matter who is in charge or no matter the year.........
I understood that well huh?

 You know I have to read something over and over if it's not something I'm familiar with and even then I forget it very quickly. Yet I have a capacity to remember very odd things like phone numbers, dates, car specs and even remembering who said what on here - that sort of thing. I guess the difference is being interested enough to begin with - then you'll remember.

I tend to live in a kinda "if it's not affecting me directly I don't really care" world :|

I have an extremely vague memory of my schooling, can't really remember any of it or any of the teachers names (apart from the ones we took the piss out of that is).

Ha ha - Yep, right with you there.
I can remember things like engine specs but do you think I can find me keys? It's a daily battle
For you boys car mechanics come naturally I am sure, us women have to think a tad harder... tis like when I was bolting the front seats back down, I looked at the seat belt and the bolt for that and was like, errr so where did this go again?
Remembered it went near where the recline wheel is, but for a brief, blonde-woman moment I thought it went onto the seat rail thing.

My bad

Okay i can't blame her for my illnesses but what she did had a huge effect on my family
Sounds like your family (most people, in fact) were f*cked by the unions, not the PM.

Yeah, nasty unions, we were quite happy living in poverty with no rights before they came along and spoiled everything :frown:

On Daybreak this morning they were saying £10 million for her funeral to be paid for by the taxpayer, and the queen had consented to this! What a total joke, why should we pay and what difference does the queen make in this, the royals live off our money too. My wife had to pay over £5000 for her mums funeral, every penny she had saved. Why can't Thatchers family pay for it, why us? I noticed she'd been staying in the Ritz as well while she was ill, hope that was out of her own pocket as well.

10 million pounds.

10 - m i l l i o n - pounds.

Why not take that £10m and use it to help regrow the communities her government devastated with the shutdown of the mines? Even better, stick her down one of the old pits on the cheap

As she was a member of the House of Lords, I would find that highly doubtful.

A little off topic now:

How have you done FOUR quotes in one message? When I tried doing more than 3 in a message, the forum got pissy with me and said I wasn't allowed to

I think it's absolutly disgusting, the government's telling us all we have to tighten our belts, cut backs left, right and centre, but they can afford to splash out a vast fortune to bury some evil old witch that almost the whole country despised (including her own "colleagues" while she was alive, but everyone loves you when you're dead  ). How many houses would it have built? How many operations would it have paid for?

Will they be putting guards on her grave? If they don't I think there'll be the distinct smell of urine there for as long as anyone can remember who she was and what she did lives.

Also, her idiot son was on the telly here last night - SIR?????????????????   For f*ck's sake the guy's a complete moron with a conviction for selling weapons to third world countries so brown people can kill each other!!!!

Ffs no wonder they took all the guns off us!!!

Funny how they came up with £10m at the drop of a hat :?

On the News last night some politician said that Thatcher negotiated the 'European Rebate' which still stands and nets £ eleventy squillion a year for the Gov without doing a thing so the cost of the funeral was "inconsequential" Image
