Still though, I'd prefer either a Delta S4 or 037 instead.... Go easy on me

You wouldn't fancy a Metro 6R4 or the original mid engined Renault 5 Turbo then?dgt wrote:The real dealGingerMagic wrote:Its a lovely example - does seem to be a bit on the pricey side though....It's actually rather cheap!

I reckon that's quite a good price for a legit 205 T16 too. I'm sure the last time I saw a proper RS200 for sale it was a lot more than £100k.

Who is going to buy it me as a late birthday present then? Oh - it's ended by now.

I'd love a Manta 400 after owning my replica but guess for the sound it would have to be an Audi preferably in Pikes Peak trim
Although if money was no object I'd get Retropower down the road to build me an evolution of the manta
4wd super charged turbo charged engine in the back with lift up rear like the T16 and S4 and the fastest f*cking 400 style fat bastard arches they could make

A Manta 400 replica with a mildly tuned Cav/Calibra Turbo engine sounds good to me, but stuff the 4wd - I'd keep it all going to the rear! After driving a few 4x4 Sierras I'm not overly keen on the handling characteristics.plod wrote:I'd love a Manta 400 after owning my replica but guess for the sound it would have to be an Audi preferably in Pikes Peak trim

I'll see your Manta though & raise you an Ascona 400 though...
Perhaps even with a supercharged 3.2 V6 from an Omega instead. Might even be a more straightforward conversion as it's already coming from a rwd car.

The sierra had fixed 4wd which was the problem.waue1978 wrote:A Manta 400 replica with a mildly tuned Cav/Calibra Turbo engine sounds good to me, but stuff the 4wd - I'd keep it all going to the rear! Although saying that, I was told it was impossible to get one to do a drift but managed it on the A46 top end of Leicester and very nice it was too with the sound of the V6 through the cosworth exhaust I had on the car - that decker only did 20mpg and at least put a smile on my face compared to the 20mpg mondingo lol
I have a "friend" on Facebook stu, Fergal Mcgovern, he has grafted an Ascona onto an M5 chassis and the 400 kit has been on steroids lol - check him out mate

Re: 205 T16 anyone?
Just had a look. The green one looks good. I'm guessing it's an E34 chassis as the engine looks too modern to be the old E28 3.5. Know it isn't an E39 as it isn't a V8. Have to say though, I've never been a fan of putting engines from other makers into different cars. Maybe it's an originality thing with me. The white one looks absolutely fantastic though.plod wrote:I have a "friend" on Facebook stu, Fergal Mcgovern, he has grafted an Ascona onto an M5 chassis and the 400 kit has been on steroids lol - check him out mate

I always thought it was easy to get the back end to step out on 4x4 Sierras - just lift off slightly mid corner! It's why I don't like them. You have to keep your foot firmly planted to get them to grip & if you go in too fast & back off it's gone.
It's not so much a question of taste. We're just showing our age.Sonia406 wrote:You boys have no taste

Loved that car though
Cosworth rims, cossie zorst, cossie grill, XR4i Bi-plane spoiler
The sound of the V6 growling away through the cossie zorst
Comfy as fcuk as well

Have seen many RS200 reps over here, I've often wondered what they're built on....
