16" steel wheels
Anybody got any 16" steel wheels for the 406? Prefer new ones but good secondhand would be acceptable. Preferably in the South East.
Re: 16" steel wheels
I could be completely wrong but I don't think any model of 406 came with 16" steels, you'd have to get some from another car with the same bolt spacing.
Since I put 16" alloys on mine nearly 2 years ago I've been looking for a spare in the breakers and never found one!
I've come to the conclusion that wheels over 15" are all alloys

Not in sets as such, but I have heard that you can get 16ins steel spares from some coupes. Might be worth asking Ade Bingham (advertises lots of coupe parts on Ebay under Ade1822) to be sure. Failing that, I can't think of anything PSA made that had 16ins steels in a 4 stud pattern.gumby6371 wrote:I could be completely wrong but I don't think any model of 406 came with 16" steels, you'd have to get some from another car with the same bolt spacing.

Re: 16" steel wheels
I stand corrected on that then. But the 307 wheels will still be unsuitable for a 406 - 13mm difference in the offset, pushing the wheels so far inside the arches it'll look like a hovercar. They'll probably catch the brake calipers too.lozz wrote:Pug 307 has 16s and is 4 stud

Re: 16" steel wheels
Mine has a 16" steel spare and i would assume the late SE's and S's fitted with the 16" nimrods would have steel spares so it would be perhaps worth trawling the scrappies for spare wheels.

Re: 16" steel wheels
I just had a thought though, the stud holes in the wheels are slightly different (larger hole/smaller taper) from standard steel wheels,i think it is so you can use the alloy wheel bolts to fit them to the car when you get a flat tyre.
