Activating DiagBox

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Activating DiagBox

Post by rwb »

So I did what it says here:
http://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/gen ... x8.html#75
but then it comes up with "Error during installation of Lexia. You have to reactivate to restart the installation."

Am I supposed to be installing (how?) PP2000 instead anyway? What's the difference?

Turns out I should be installing 6.01, not 5.02, and after activation it installs more stuff for which it needs the ISO mounted...

Hi, when I installed Diagbox - it completely erased Lexia from the laptop.

I uninstalled it and put Lexia back on - I was reading on-line somewhere that Diagbox is still quite new and doesn't support all that PP2000 does.

I thought about partitioning my hard drive to have both but then didn't....

Sticking with PP2000.

OK, so got DiagBox happy, plugged it into the car, chose 406R, and then what? It just launches PP2000. So it looks like DiagBox is just a bollocksy front-end. There does seem to be something to do with "measurement" in DiagBox, but it's not giving any clues as to what that is, and apparently you need to get different cables :?

Anyway, here's the next problem: PP2000 can't see the interface.

Now, DiagBox can see the interface because you have to plug it in and install the driver in order to get to the car select screen.
So, how do you run PP2000 on it's own? Where does it live under /AWRoot ?

Mmm, not sure. I did remove Diagbox because it didn't feel right.
I'm afraid I can't be more helpful. :(

Delete Diagbox and just use PP2000..!!

Had a jolly good poke about and am fairly convinced that DiagBox is utter utter rubbish. Couldn't work out how to run PP separately, it appears all to be knitted together somehow.

So, followed your lead and dumped DiagBox and installed PP2000. Version 22 wouldn't activate, so upgraded to 23 and that did activate.

Can get through the menus as far as it asking you to turn the ignition on, but I'm not traipsing out at this time. See what tomorrow brings...

Do the clone boxes have a sticker that says "made in France"?

Diagbox is kind of a hassle, but it does work. I borrowed a computer from my dealer and it worked nicely. Seems to be a bit more picky on non-original cables, tho.

Mine came with a counterfeit pug/cistern logo, but you have to stick it on yourself. I will work up some enthusiasm. Soon.

Apparently... Mine had it... and it looked so good with the vinyl stickers I actually thought it was a real one for a good while. They certainly don't hold back on making them look original. From what I have read they are all fakes, unless you buy one of these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexia-Actia-G ... 2c6e102bcf

But you can get ok and crap quality PCB / components in them and that is where the luck of the draw lies...
