Speeding alert

Anybody ever seen this before?
I enabled it somewhere in the config options for the MFD.

The second screen comes up when you cycle through the trips: globe icon, trip 1, trip 2, and then this speeding alert screen.

The long triangle means "long press of the button". So I can turn it on and off. A short press, for "Programme" goes to the third screen.

But the third screen doesn't seem to do anything. A long press for "MEM" just makes the screen disappear, the same as "Quit".



Has anybody ever seen this?! Is it something to do with cruise control? (I don't have cruise.)

I tried pressing "MEM" when the moron in front of me slowed to 25 for the 30 limit, but there was no warning when we eventually got back up to 30.
Will try to exceed 70 later.

I think there's an option for the car to bleep when you reach a certain speed, we've talked about it before but it's not something the UK cars were normally enabled with. I think someone picked up an ex-fleet car once and was asking why it kept bleeping at speed so it's probably that.

Never seen it on mine but to be honest i have never looked for it,to my knowledge it hasn't got anything to do with cruise control as mines got that and it's all operated from the buttons on the steering column stalk.Looks like you display is on the way out though.

I know on some other PSAs there are two cruise stalks, the one we use and another with something to do with speed limits. I can't be asked to look it up but I suspect that's what you're looking at

Hi, I saw this option on PP2000 too but didn't know what it did but I do now.
I think I might enable it too as it looks like fun....

Maybe the mem feature is for those everyday trips where you sometimes forget about the speed camera?? I guess it is linked to the sat-nav somehow.

Your MFD is like mine, but with less stripes...

My initial thought was that if the sat nav data contained speed limit data then it could work out when you're speeding. However, I think this is a bit unlikely.

I like your idea about using MEM to set locations. But how would you list and clear them? I've turned it off again, and haven't driven past the same point where I was pressing MEM which means that I haven't tested your hypothesis.

There's definitely nothing in the handbooks about this. I checked the French ones too.

I did notice there were some more settings in the BSI config/options to do with it, but I've left everything off for now. I remember with the oil temperature gauge you have to tell it both that it has the gauge (which I fitted) and that it has the sensor (which it left the factory with), so it's quite plausible that we have to find and enable the same thing in many places.

The screen isn't great, but the fading when it gets hot (which affects all of these screens) is more of a problem than the missing columns. The only thing that's difficult is setting destinations in the sat nav because the letters are in the small font, so a missing line can make a B into an E and makes an I disppear

Activated my speeding alert too, with PP2000.

Extra features with the trip, like your pics show, but still not figured out how the feck it works though....

Where did you enable it? IIRC there are settings in the BSI as well as the MFD.

The Picasso's have the speed alert
There shouid be away to set a speed limit, ie,

30 or 70mph

A good thing to have but annoying as feck after awhile,

I had it activated for a while a few years back, tried everything but it never worked. Although my car always seems to have a fault about speed sensor come up (even though the speedo reads fine)

There is also an option in pp2000 for the windows to go up on deadlocking, which would be very useful, but it never works.

Yeah I activated that one too, thinking it would be a smart one to have, but need the correct ecu for the total closure to work.

Ive never heard of anyone getting it to work, wonder what ecu it must it be , if its not on an executive?

I seem to remember reading somewhere, possibly on the coupe club, that the window close-on-deadlock can't work because it would need all of the switches to have the one touch close thing but only the driver's window does.

Any update on the speed warning? I found the two settings yesterday, but didn't have time to test it so I left it where it was

I suspect there's a lot of unused code in the MFD for features that aren't yet finished or, as above, not supported on certain vehicles. Isn't it this Type C display that's used in the 407 -- but with some updated software?
