Wires in Drivers Side Footwell

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Wires in Drivers Side Footwell

Post by wtpfrd »

Hi,

I've just bought an alarm system to install in my 2.1TD 406 (1998) and I'm trying to connect it to the central locking. I've been told it's best to connect it to the wires in the Drivers side footwell. Sure enough, behind the panel securing the Bonnet Release I found two wiring looms - one with a big circular black connector and the other with a brown connector. I presume the central locking is operated from the brown one (Since when I disconnect it the Central Locking stops working) but I can't work two of the MANY wires I need. Haynes Manual says 6231 and 6251, but I can't find any wires with these numbers on them. Can anyone help???!!

THANKS

i wouldnt touch any of the wires in the drivers footwell as the these dont have much to do with the central locking, and really you need the peugeot wiring diagrams as the haynes ones are crap, but, if you use the haynes diagrams, take the glovebox out and you will find the central locking ecu, and the remote reciever in there, they will be the wires you need
