P1352 - ECU code
Hi
I was getting this code and also the throttle position sensor error at the same time for a day or so and now they have gone off.
The P1352 is apparently 'SID 801- Pre/Post heating relay circuit - Relay & Pre-Heat plugs not controlled' The engine is a 2.2 Hdi (2003)
The reason I'm posting this topic is now the fuel gauge has gone to show no fuel even though I know there is a quarter of a tank in there. Could this P1352 fault be causing this issue?
Thanks for any info.

Re: P1352 - ECU code
According to our list:
P1352 Ignition Coil A Primary Circuit Malfunction
Which is obviously rubbish since diesels don't have ignition coils.
The SID801 thing is also rubbish because SID801 is the Siemens ECU fitted to some HDi 90s. All 2.2s have a Bosch EDC 15.
Now I'm confused

Re: P1352 - ECU code
Thanks for that.
The two codes that came up together were P1352 and P2137. Both listed as 'powertrain'
Could be I have a faulty fuel sender and these codes may have nothing to do with that, then again maybe they do. Just a bit curious as the fuel gauge fault happened within a day of these error codes appearing.
Also to add: Does the low fuel warning take the data from the fuel gauge rather than the tank / sender? I know I have a quarter tank of fuel but the gauge is showing empty and I'm getting the low fuel warning.
Thanks

Re: P1352 - ECU code
Hmmm...
I suffer a lot from TPS problems, just always have. I just replace them, although currently I'm testing one that I opened, cleaned and re-greased. What I noticed on my most recent bad one is that if you take the cable off and twist the, erm, twisty bit, then it felt gritty.
(The TPS problem causes engine management light and limp mode for me, but since you have a different ECU it's possible that you don't get limp mode.)
As for the fuel gauge, I can't see any logical connection with these fault codes. My gauge did go through a phase of under-reading by a quarter tank, so when full it would show a quarter. I just filled it up every 600 miles. Never found out what it was. It now under-reads by 1/12 tank (one notch). Haven't got any related codes logged, and have no inclination to go fishing in the fuel tank.

Re: P1352 - ECU code
What are you reading these codes with? Would be good to get PP2000 on it.

Re: P1352 - ECU code
I'm using a basic OBDII plug in device to the ECU interface along with Torque Pro on a Smartphone.
As for the TPS fault, this does cause limp home mode on occasion but I've noted this fault hardly happens after sustained dry weather. My car has a sunroof and A/C. This TPS fault doesn't happen as often now since I stopped using a drive through car wash and started using a lance jet wash instead.
It could be water draining out of the sunroof drain holes that's somehow affecting some sensors. If it rains a lot, I get more instances of this fault. I've had the radio antenna re-sealed and the back lights too.
Edit to add: In periods of very heavy rain, sometimes water will drain out where the factory alarm sensors are on the A pillar in the cabin so could be a water/electrical glitch.

Re: P1352 - ECU code

You're very lucky the OBD-II works. OBD-II, well EOBD, wasn't compulsory until 2004. Could be why the misleading code. Any chance you can get PP2000 on it?

Re: P1352 - ECU code
Not had a PP2000 on this fault. The fault has since disappeared. Filled up £20 of diesel and the gauge is now working normally.
Don't know how it went from showing a quarter tank to zero. Could be a faulty fuel sender unit.
I've had this problem happen a few times in the past - e.g. filling up with fuel and the gauge doesn't move then the level registers correctly later on.
I priced a fuel sender unit today from the main dealer and these come in at £193 inc VAT.

Re: P1352 - ECU code
haha, yeah, mine would sometimes return to normal for a while.
I don't think I'd be having a sender for that money
In fact I'm not sure my car is worth that much

Re: P1352 - ECU code
Both my 110's have had weird fuel guage readings,i borrow fuel from my company van on occasions and if i put a couple of gallons in the car on the drive (steepish nose up) the guage reads no difference nor range on the mfd but if i add fuel on the flat both readings alter, even when the car has had fuel added nose up and the car is put back on the flat nothing alters it's although the fuel has disappeared!

Re: P1352 - ECU code
lol
That reminds me, sometimes the level goes down really fast, then it will suddenly find an extra half tank.
