Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
The 90hp and the 136hp are more to tax than the 110hp.What i can't get my head round is that you could get the same model bmw as mine pre 03/01 and pay less tax than my post(just) 03/01 when there exactly the same car.
,i had to show a contractor around a building the other day and he turned up in a nearly bmw 320d and he said he paid no tax at all,with all these cars paying little or no tax who's going to make up the shortfall?

Aren't the HDi 90 and 110 both in the same band? Band F. In February I paid £135 for 12 months tax on my 90.grasmere59 wrote:The 90hp and the 136hp are more to tax than the 110hp.

(1) It's based on emissions rather than consumption. If you could capture most of the emissions then you could run a V12 tax free.
(2) If the government wanted to tax people off the road then they would be putting road tax into the thousands for everyone because this would make it infeasible to own a car unless you're really using it.

Must be my mistake,i thought 90's were a G and 110's an F,i was going by the parkers guide when i was looking for a 110,i read somewhere from 3/13 the F band was going to be £140 a year and G was going to be £170,i'll try and dig out where i read that.

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
Very confusing i went on the gov site http://carfueldata.dft.gov.uk/new-vehic ... 23ude39,if it's a 2.0 hdi 90hp it's band F but if it's an Hdi turbo 90hp it's a band G,whats the difference?

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
I see what you mean.
All four combinations are there for March 2002, but the two turbo ones have gone for January 2003 and the remaining two are both F whereas previously they were G. Also depending on date, sometimes the description contains "2.0" and sometimes it doesn't.
My feeling is that their data is crap

Well it is now 8 days since I went into a DVLA branch to tax Miss Pug.lozz wrote:Grrr.. fecking road tax.

STILL ''Sorn due to expire'' via DVLA 'vehicle enquiry'.
Called them AGAIN today, fobbed off yet again and it should be done by Monday.
That 'F-Y' idea seems a damn good one Lozz!
~~~~~~~~~
Bloody hate it when this happens:
Those new mats I bought are doing a good job, not only are they wipe clean but they light up the whole car with the reflections!
Here is under the passenger seat (took today as I had to fiddle down there... (Don't ask)).
Water collecting in the boot lid...
Tried to find where the water is getting in, in the boot... failed miserably mind.
I doubt its here the water is getting in, but a possibilty:
Finally, a picture of me with Miss Pug.
Ready to pick up my alloys on Saturday (Need more tarpaulin before then mind)
Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
Sad to report after doing at least 150 miles this weekend as well the ABS has made its ugly self known once again.
It appeared after some quite harsh breaking and has been a bit of a nuisance since it's made an ugly return. When the light is on and when the light is off the ABS is still functioning - I know that much.
Since rwb's PP2000 picked it up as an ''intermittent'' fault I am definitely going to keep an eye on it, if it is on every time I make a journey, I am going to eliminate said connection box above the fuel tank.
I had heard stories of ABS sensors STILL coming on in the rain, however - it's been completely dry. In fact, LAST WEEKEND we drove through the pissing rain, another 150 miles - and not once did it flash up.
Maybe she was pushed a little too hard.............
A few pics from the weekend (will try to spare time tomorrow to blog up in greater detail)
Of course, Met Stu from the forums (third member to meet so far, she's doing well!)
He gave me a few bits and bobs, decided to give me his knob which then led me to ask if he wanted to swap knobs
(I don't think he heard my comment but Dave did and was like
)
**Came away with a goodie bag from Stu, thank you for these goodies - lovely chap
Just imagine them black (it's going to take a while before I can get them as I want them)
Miss Pug, enjoying her road trip
Just a word of caution,have you let your insurer know you will be fitting alloys as if your car didn't come with them as standard they will find anyway to weasel out of any claim if you hadn't let them know beforehand.
I think they don't usually mind if you tell them (as long as there not carlos fandango's) but if it's when you don't when the trouble starts.
Yeah its a good idea to let them know. You are fitting Peugeot alloys to a Peugeot, so they won't really be that interested but worth doing in case, as mentioned, they try to squirm away from paying out if you have a bump.
Please don't do black wheels, I think you may regret it......
