Re: need help again arghhhhhh
I reckon you've got us stumped
I've been thinking about this all day, I looked on the diagrams but there are no common circuits or fuses. However, all are directly or indirectly linked with the BSI. None are multiplexed, as such, but they do link to things that are. I also remember someone a few years back got water into their sat nav unit and this produced a whole host of weird problems. SO what I'm going to suggest is you check the sat nav and cd changer for dampness, It might also be worth checking the footwell connectors viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13347 Not that any of these circuits run through here but you never know...
Does everything else on the car work ok?

Yeah, sounds like something on the van bus might be misbehaving, but the radio losing its memory is surely a symptom of it missing the permanent 12v supply. I'd check that first
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
Re: need help again arghhhhhh
Hi all thanks for the replys it is the one without sat nav and yes it does seem like it is not getting a perminent live as like I said the radio when turning it on just goes on no specific station where as before it would just go on what it was last on bloody cars
Re: need help again arghhhhhh
Also Im a bit simple where it comes to electrical stuff whats a bsi and how would I check to see if it h a perminent live is there a fuse or something and what am I looking for in the foot well many thank paul

Hmm, an executive without a sat nav?
It does indeed sound like a blown fuse but the OP checked them (in his other thread
) I would say though, that blown fuses don't always look blown... Trouble is, they all (appear) to be on different fuses.
The BSI is the car's cpu, your car is multiplexed and this is the "brains" of the outfit. The idea is, as there are more and more gadgets fitted to cars, to limit the number of wires everything is joined onto the same 3 wires and stuff gets turned on and off or whatever by data coming down the line with their number on it. It's a great idea, sadly the application isn't so hot.
Your BSI is located above & behind the passenger compartment fuse panel. It has 5 fuses across the front of it...
