I pulled off the brake callipers on the clio and seen this:
At the moment the ABS seems to kick in at very low speeds and the cars brakes are not very sharp, everything is bled fine, could the disk be too small for the car?
Yes, wrong discs methinks, or uprated caliper and pads on a standard disc?
Either way, at some point the pads will wear so much on the inside and not on the edge and they will touch each other and not the disc..
Check eBay for bigger discs..

Whoever fitted those original brakes was either incompetent or a willing amateur making a mistake, glad you got it sorted it should actually stop properly now

The garage we bought the clio was supposed to have put new disks and pads in it before selling it.
Should I go back and edit my post to hide the fact I didn't read FP's fp properly? Or should I leave it and continue looking like an idiot? Hmm... At least I was right, sort of...
Complain to the garage Frank, either their mechanic was a complete monkey or they willing sold you the car in a dangerous condition. If they tell you to get stuffed call in the rozzers.
It lost braking about 3 years ago a week after passing its mot test, one of the wheel cylnders was leaking luckily i was still using it and was able to slow the car with the handbrake, took it to a mechanic who spotted the leak at the back, and replaced the part, the front brakes were never touched.
