Incredibly surprised none of you mentioned the fact the sign post in the back said to go --> that way, yet my wheels were turned <-- that way.
I thought you'd been first to jump to the typical woman comments

You know me, always going against the grain

I did a fair bit of reversing I have you know...
It was a car park and I had parked but I wanted to take a picture with the steering at an angle.. Only noticed the sign when it came to photo editing last night

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
I've decided against going black on the alloys.
I've found where the leak was coming from.
I had suspected it was coming in via the rear trim (it's one popper lose on the N/S) but actually, it was coming in via the light seal.
I have put some silicone (gasket stuff) around the seal and have put it all back.
HOW the rear lights worked is anyones guess. Electrodes inside the light cluster were wet through, as were the electric plug connection.
Question:
Rear tail light cluster, N/S is there a bulb next to the reverse light? My friend is adamant there is a bulb (that is not lighting up, rear fog) but I am almost 100% certain there is only one fog light (rear) on the 406 estate and that is the off-side!!
Anyway, dried it all out as much as I could with a hair dryer and put it all back together.

Sorry to wee-wee on your fireworks, but there should be a fog light each side - nearest the number plate..
Most cars I see on the road have only one on the drivers side, which is all you need by law, but some posh cars have two, like mine..
Glad you saw sense on the alloys, black only really suits BIG alloys...

Needs investigating but I am absolutely sure that there is a holder there but no bulb - that's what I have been told... I maybe need to look closer.
How dare you, piss on my fireworks!

I can tell yor for a fact that not all 406 estates had 2 rear fog lights. My dads first 406 was a X reg 90 hdi glx. That had 1 rear fog light on the right hand side, but the left had no bulb, and no where to put a bulb in but had the circuit board for it.My car(my dads 2nd company 406)is a late 2003 53 hdi 110 se,with 2 fog lights.

Agree. My bro's 98 SX estate only had one reversing light, but his current 2001 exec and both my, (52 + 03), execs all have 2 reversing lights.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Alrighty, been neglecting this thread for a while.
I have adjusted the handbrake, it's as good as new now.
My hand brake ''self healed'' while she was off road but has been slowly deteriorating, so was time to nip it in the bud.
On on / two clicks its holding, on three / four its SOLID. Was a real easy job, much to my BF's surprise when he congratulated me on doing the job, I said compared to the Air bag nightmare, it was a walk in the park
Ok, sunstrip fitted - block cut out for the rain sensor too.

Rear windscreen stickers removed for tinting the weekend (Dare I say she looks a little boring now!)

ANYONE got any idea how to take apart the rear light clusters?
Had a brief look earlier and looks like it's a complete unit?

I want to use the E-tech smoke spray to tint the light clusters.......
Cheers guys

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
The bulb holder will pop out if you release a couple of plastic clips.
Also, maybe push the back of the clusters into some old polystyrene to keep them still and in place while you spray.
What happened with the alloys you got from Stu?

Umm... yeah - that little project has been put on a back burner at the momentGingerMagic wrote:The bulb holder will pop out if you release a couple of plastic clips.

Had the tyres removed from the alloys, when time is on my side I will be cleaning them getting ready for the refurb.........

What plastic clips are we talking about? In which way to we release them? I'm afraid of snapping them!
