90 - 110 Remapping chip

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

I was very tempted last year to get my 90 mapped at Angel tuning in Banbury, as it really could do with a little more power when towing my caravan. The only thing that has stopped me is the amount of annoying electrical gremlins my car has, and until I can get to the bottom of these it wont get done.

The HDi is seriously de-tuned in standard form to keep the thing well within its limits - this is to ensure that however and wherever the car is driven it will still provide reliable service. I've never heard of a single turbo failure on a HDi for example.

The engines were designed to withstand being horribly abused in all kinds of climates so have lots of scope for improvement. The only 'down side' (if you want to call it that) would be to be a bit more anal about oil changes and letting the engine and turbo 'run down' after a good run before you switch off. Also being sympathetic about getting the water and oil hot before using full boost and higher revs (most remaps take you into a rev band not previously usable).

Do it. But a proper remap, not a "chip"...
