spongy brakes

Post by briangoo »

hi all my brakes are spongy & don't really feel grippy but if you pump it once or twice its great as if its got air in the lines. the abs light is on & off & also the STOP brake fault comes on the dash & warning display above the heating settings. but i've ordered a pp2000 so hopefully it will point out the faults

Err, yeah  That actually sounds a bit dicey, I'm not really sure what the spongy brakes would have to do with the ABS light, unless it's down to a broken reluctor ring but then would it pressure up like that? Or maybe there's more than 1 fault? I would be a tad reluctant to drive it like that anyway.

In my experience normally a failing abs pump. Was pretty cheap to pick a used one for my old 406 and vectra.

Don't worry when I'm pulling my hair out trying to work the pp2000 I will be asking plenty of questions. Lol
