Can I be really random?

Post by Sonia406 »

I want you to show me YOUR REMOTES?
I'm particularly interested to see TWO BUTTON remotes on the Estates, both D8 and D9 versions.
I have found a genuine Peugeot button for my remote (which looks exactly the same) but for some reason Peugeot say they are only suitable for the D8 version.

Interested to see if you guys have D8/ D9's and what the physical difference is.............

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Plips.

I thought D9s all looked the same - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-2-BUT ... 3382549ad3

Was it the small round button you were trying to replace?

Ah, I guess I didn't know when they changed. Looks like it was RPO9001 as per.

D8s with normal locking just had the single big button, with dead locking they had both. Looks like Pug carried on the two button for semi-mux cars but with different functions and I can't tell if it's the same housing because the part number is different, presumably for the innards if nothing else. For D8s the big button seems to be available - 9926 FC - TRANSMITTER DIAPHRAGM but I'm guessing this is what you have and it doesn't fit, so the housing is probably different. There are a few ads for the buttons on ebay, eg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-406-D ... 27d3acb9d4 - any use?

Thanks Steve, That's kinda what I bought. :(
Because it's a non-genuine part you have to press the button ALL the way down to get a response and in doing so, the button snags on the key... so it stays half down and becomes really bloody annoying!
Want genuine Pug buttons, found one on ebay for £9 which said it would apparently Peugeot state it would only go with the Peugeot 406 mk1's

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... TQ:GB:1123

I'm guessing that button is for a single button remote?

Interestingly, dead locking doesn't work on my car....

That button was what I bought for my D8 (t'was the single button), no idea if it'll fit yours though :?

Don't know if your car has dead locking, it looks like the same key fob did both, it just depends on if the car was equipped with it or not.

Maybe I should just buy a cheap carcass off ebay (genuine of course) and if it's in better condition swap everything over, Blade would be easy enough to carry over I would of thought and if it's in worse condition just rob it for the buttons.............

Think I've found what I need, mentions something about micro switches which I am sure is what's needed... need to ask if its a genuine part or not cos those rubber ones are shocking

Sonia, thats the same key fob as a 306 too. Maybe look for them on ebay as probably loads more available - just get the top half of the key fob complete with buttons and swap with yours, or a key from a scrapper, and you can keep your key..... :cheesy:

Already put a bid in on this now

Unfortunately my local scrapper is a complete arse. Told me he was keeping a 406 for a while (a week in fact), 2 days later I return and it's gone. Son of a citroen!

I've seen three designs of those keys, subtly different
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
