Unfortunately, no. The engines are virtually identical, but the ecu file has to match the rest of the car and co-exist with the BSI.

If he has DPF problems, I can convert his ecu file to 'no-FAP', if you want, but unfortunately can't generate a tuned ecu file for it, as yet.

Sorry doggy whats a BSI? I would of thought that the engine ecu would of been the same?
Don't mean to be dumb but could u explain this further please?
Would that mean he would have to get it remapped by a proper place or could anyone adjust it with winols or other program?
Thanks again

I think Doggy means that the Fap ( particulate filter for emission reduction ) can get blocked and sap the performance.

The Ecu can be told to' ignore' the Fap and it will never be a problem again. Then the filter part would then be removed leaving a free-flowing exhaust ( apart from the cat ) to give slightly better performance. Its not a map as such but allows car to breath better.

The Bsi controls the cars extras / trim level ( like auto wipers, cruise control etc ) but it has to communicate with the ECU at the same time to keep everything in check. Each car has a different VIN number after all, so ECU's number must match Bsi number to communicate.

I'm sure Doggy could word this better though, I'm still learning.... 8)

Bitter experience with modern vehicles leads me to the conclusion that one should never assume that a part or some software will be the same across all 406's let alone other Peugeots. There will no doubt be a bewildering variety to the software to thwart your very noble plan.
