Lost my V6....!

Post by markw »

Haven't been on here long but I just noticed under my avatar that apparently I drive a 1.6 8v motor!
What's that mean? Have I won a prize??!!

That's not your car, that's you that is :P Most forums have a status that improves as you post more (usually from things like "Newby" and "arrived on last train" to "Post Whore" and "Can't Bloody Stop Talking"), ours goes through the engine sizes of the 406. I'm sure somebody could change your status to "Fresh Meat" should you so desire... If you put your car in under your profile it'll still be there.

1000 I think.

I had mine for very brief spell. It was a GTX Auto.
I paid next to nothing for it. Had 194k on it with a recent 'cambelt' change. I later found out when the tensioner failed that they really had only changed the cambelt

When I did mine at 78,000, you would have thought that the belt that came off was brand new! It was in perfect condition and the only difference I could see was that the white printing on the smooth side had worn off. The rollers and tensioner were in similar condition too. Kind of reassuring on the one hand , but frustrating in a way on the other because it makes it seem what you've spent all day doing, a waste of time!!(which it isn't btw!)
I changed the whole lot anyway. £320 from dealer for the kit. Belt two rollers and the tensioner assembly.

In all seriousness is there a way to fit a land rover deep water exploration snorkly thingymagiggy to ours?

Without the use of a bonnet scoop?... There was a hint of seriousness in there i promise, Welcome to the forum Markw.

Don't worry 'bout it Scotty, all the jokes about that B&Q ducting have been thick and fast on the Coupe forum. :cheesy:
