Re: Peugeot 508 RXH
Had a Citreon DS5 hybrid4 for a day.
Was a horrible, jerky, unrefined, uneconomical, slow, heavy, crap handling pile of crap!
The RXH is just a DS5 Hybrid 4 with a different body on it.

Max braked trailer weight 1100kg? What good is that for a 4x4 that weighs in at 1910 kgs.

Re: Peugeot 508 RXH
I hope the handbrake is better than my 406, could do some serious damage with 2 tons rolling away down a hill......

"Hey, lets fit 3 x rows of super-bright LED's on each side"
I give up with new cars now - they all look the same.
Saw a Mazda just last night doing a pretty convincing impression of a BMW
Wait till you see one, you'll do a double-take
:

And some random euro-box to compare:

Re: Peugeot 508 RXH
ouch! was actually thinking one of these might be nice to have as a replacement for the 406 in a few years. but that makes it useless as a tow cargrasmere59 wrote:Max braked trailer weight 1100kg? What good is that for a 4x4 that weighs in at 1910 kgs.

Re: Peugeot 508 RXH
MAZDA FTW!
The new Mazda6 is a very nice car. Wish I had the extra cash for it over the 3. That said, if I was going to spend that much, I would of shelled out for a 2 year old Megane 250, not a family hack!

Re: Peugeot 508 RXH
the "Normal" 508sw will take 1790-1900 dependent on engine, so i suspect this is to prevent you knackering the motors towing it in electric only?grasmere59 wrote:Max braked trailer weight 1100kg? What good is that for a 4x4 that weighs in at 1910 kgs.

from the site: "508 RXH’s recorded fuel consumption of 68.9 mpg"GingerMagic wrote:Yes, looks nice. Very surprised at the economy.

Bloody £500 hdi will give you close to that, and £30,000 change to spend on fixing it

Everyone should forget about economical new cars and just drive chaeap old FUN cars

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Or get a cheap, old, economical, fun car.

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: Peugeot 508 RXH
Agree with Welly here, when i was younger i could recognise each car and from a longer distance but today i find it difficult, you dont know if its mazda, bmw, merc, or VW-škoda-audi hybrid.
All have those fancy led strips in light, oval shaped chasis etc.
I really like sharp lines on cars like peugeot 309,405,605,505,citro XM,and others from the 80s and early 90s era.
Call me obsolete but i find more beauty in one Peugeot 505 turbo or 309 GTI than this new, yogurt shaped,Pokemon lighshow cars.
