Re: Alloy refurb .....
I didn't realise the Coupes had a wider offset, I guess thats to clear the Brembos?
I remember comparing my estate Hoggars to Finchys Coupe Hoggars and they were different, thinner spokes..

The starfish were a pain to fit - very snug over the hum and has to be lined up dead perfect to get the bolts in. They stick out a bit further too.
Not sure if I like them yet but they may grow on me.' I think this is the first photo of my car posted on the forum, it looks worst in real life...

Look at that beast..........
Refer to earlier video

I expected them to come through my PM... but to appear on my thread, with another similar coloured and shape as mine.......

Pugfest is sure going to be interesting with me lol.....
Lush wheels hun, look fantastic, love the car too...

Never been one to name a car, although other car is a blue 306, so I guess we have ' big blue ' and ' little blue '....
Tis a beast though, currently an Audi scaring ' super tractor '

What paint code do you have? I don't think it's China Blue (as mine) but the lighting is awkward so I could be wrong?GingerMagic wrote:Thanks Sonia, although not sure if my car is a 'him' or a 'her'.

Big blue and little blue sounds nice, your other car is a 306 - Oh wow

Another Peugeot fan hey?

Audi, german pieces of rubbish, as with anything German, VW for instance!

You look after her, I am sure she'll walk the MOT and love to see you both at Pugfest

Gotta disagree on that one, took the BMW for MOT today and passed with flying colours with no advisories, thats the 7th time on the trot with nothing needed doing.

Re: Alloy refurb .....
Funnily enough my Dad put the 523i in today. 2 rear tyres & a number plate bulb. Every E39 we've ever had in the family has always had corroded brake lines as an advisory though. Even my first 520i which was only 6 years old when I got it.grasmere59 wrote:Audi, german pieces of rubbish, as with anything German, VW for instance!

Was lovely to meet you both today too!
Thanks for the alloys and my little goodie bag of everything else!

It's easy to see who wears the trousers in your house..

Charming little lad.
Thanks again Stu, was lovely to put a face to a name.
See you at Pugfest

Re: Alloy refurb .....
I definitely underestimated the whole alloy refurb idea didn't I?
Getting the brake dust off the sides of the alloys: easy peasy.
Getting the brake dust off the nooks and crannies in the underside of the spokes: dead hard
Possibly don't have the right brush for the job so that isn't helping........
I'm thinking about giving them to someone to sandblast them..... I have only done (ish) two alloys today and it's hard slog,
I'm still thinking white to spray them white...........

Re: Alloy refurb .....
Domestic white gloss-the stuff they spray fridges with looks good on alloys
It proper shiny/easy to keep clean too.
As for cleaning alloys for refurb mix a bucket full of star drops up to a foam solution
And brush it on-its a good degreaser /all purpose cleaner .
