Very very true that. Ask Sam, he couldn't make the Pugfest trip without something breaking on it (brake light)

Nowt wrong with the Glovebox AUX! Keeps it out of the way.

Lets be honest a bulb is a consumable. At the end of the day after 120k the only non consumable part my Mondeo has had is a coolant temperature sensorSonia406 wrote:lozz wrote:Edit. Scratch that,

Speaking of bulbs -this thing seems to be eating brake light bulbs on one side
Oh yeah and a wheel bearing - are they made of gold. Ford only want 200 quid for a new one

Re: mondingo aux-socket.
It's because the wheel bearing includes the ABS sensor. You can get an SKF one from ECP cheap enough.

Cheapest I've found is 58quid.
Decided to get one from fords tho'
Only paid peanuts for the mondeo. From a traders auction. 375 after auction fee/vat etc
So icarnt complain,
Only problem with it was it was coaling and no power,
Egr clean sorted that.

Re: mondingo aux-socket.
I'm really starting to fecking hate those three words almost as much as the "coolant temp to high" message when my temp reads just over 90 degrees.Bailes1992 wrote: coolant temperature sensor

i can't tow with this f*cking thing time to look for a new car.
Probably a Vulva.
Re: mondingo aux-socket.
Wire in a switch, so when your towing you can cut the fan in.scotty73 wrote:I'm really starting to fecking hate those three words almost as much as the "coolant temp to high" message when my temp reads just over 90 degrees.Bailes1992 wrote: coolant temperature sensor![]()

Or if your air/con don't work you can bridge pins 2 and 3 on the low pressure switch
So the fan will cut in by pressing the air con switch.
Re: mondingo aux-socket.
I like the sound of that especially as my condensor was diagnosed as "f*cked" the other day and i can't afford the luxury to get it done.lozz wrote:Wire in a switch, so when your towing you can cut the fan in.scotty73 wrote:I'm really starting to fecking hate those three words almost as much as the "coolant temp to high" message when my temp reads just over 90 degrees.Bailes1992 wrote: coolant temperature sensor![]()

I need to first find out if the fan actually works i took the grille off yesterday and the fan spins freely then scratched my head and put the grille back in place

Yep I'm totally clueless when it comes to electrics.

Re: mondingo aux-socket.
The fans on 406s are normally whisper quiet so I've noticed
So it might be working and you just carnt hear it.
If your car is just getting hot on uphill towing/under strain I'd deffo wire in a flick switch
And just cut the fans in just before you hit the hills,
There's a guide somewhere for the air con switch mod iirc its on one of the 306 forums
I'm pretty sure its just a case of unplugging the plug for the low pressure switch bridge pins 2-3
And leave the connector unplugged so the compressor don't cut in.
A browse of the web will pull up a guide on that.

Re: mondingo aux-socket.
If its getting hot under load then there is something else at fault.
If its just a sensor then get some new ones and il pop up (or meet you at Dais) and change them for you!

Re: mondingo aux-socket.
I changed the green temp sensor last year then got the error message again towing up the black rock on a hot day, of course it was also hot towing on Friday and again Sunday it tows great in cooler weather but it is nice to go away sometimes when it's not snowingBailes1992 wrote:If its getting hot under load then there is something else at fault.

It did happen a few weeks back when the mrs was stuck in traffic (not towing) on a hot day.
Cheers for the offer Sam i could do with someone with some electrical nouse to check these fans are kicking in for starters.

Re: mondingo aux-socket.
Might be worth changing the blue and the brown one too! I can't remember what uses what sensor.
But yeah if you want me to have a poke around with a multimeter then let me know!
