Remote folding wing mirrors

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Remote folding wing mirrors

Post by grey »

Is it possible to hook up the remote central locking so it folds/unfolds the mirrors when locked/unlocked?

Cheers

AFAIK, no-one's managed to do it yet. I was thinking of devising some circuitry to do it, but it hasn't got past the drawing board, (yet).
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Interesting, I thought it would just be case of taking a feed off the central locking trigger and diverting it across to the mirror folding switch.

If that's a bit of a pain an easier option would be to take a feed off the + ignition and linking that upto the mirror switch which (in theory) should be super simple and achieve a similar effect only linked to starting and stopping the engine instead of the locks.

There was a thread about this a while ago, maybe do some digging on the forum - maybe going back 18 months or so...?

In theory it should be simple, but this is a French car after all...

Wow, thanks for that - What a lot of work for such a (theoretically) simple mod.

Found this whilst I was looking around:

http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/f26/how-au ... 36529.html

Seems to be a popular mod across many vehicles and all appear to use the same bits and bobs.
