fault code/ module 1

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Have you done the usual trick of unplugging the underseat wires and giving the connectors a clean?

I stuck your fault into Google (like I do with any problem Windows throws out), I didn' come up with that exact wording but if it's "level of driver module trigger 1 open circuit" then you might want to see this: http://autobossuk.co.uk/forum/discussio ... bag-light/

Did you change the com2000 because of this fault or did it occur after you'd changed it because of the usual indicator problem?

Hi there ..I changed the comm unit because i had tried everything else to clear the airbag light ...I resorted to replacing it with new as this seemed to be the main issue ...and after trying everything else I thought start with new and work from there ..this is the only remaining fault I ve got ...after reading your link (thankx for that ) I will recheck the wireing behind the comm unit this weekend ..I dont have the word trigger coming up on the fault .just module 1 ...knowing my luck Ive got the 1 nd only 406 built in peckham by the trotters ...so ill have to replace trigger with Rodney .. all jokin apart thanx for the assist..

Still looking, nothing on the repair manual of any worth (as per  )it does look like the driver's air bag but you've already changed the com200 and the bag.

Maybe the ecu?

Oh yeah, I meant to say don't test air bags with a multimeter, it can set them off. You probably know this but...

:) Good evening thanks for the feed back ..I to have had a go at the google thingy and again similer results but with the trigger word ...I replaced the airbag with one that was 2nd hand but said was fully tested ..Im going to go through everything again this weekend.I learnt after reading many comments on here not to do anything to the airbags themselfs and to make sure I discharge the system before I start unplugin/pullin bits . 8) Im vey Gratefull for all feedback from all even the repeats are good cause sometimes u miss the most obvious .I will keep u all updated and hope that anything I find may help others .....Keep the thoughts comin I,m convinced someone on here has the answer only its not obvious yet :supafrisk:

:frown: God this is getting me now Ive just spent another 3 hrs and still got the light on Ive done another diag test and get the same fault code .I ve also now soldered the 4 wires under the seat .Ive done a test on the comm unit even though its new and no faults .i do a test on the ecu and i get drivers module trigger 1 open circuit (didnt notice the trigger word first time )...Ive gooogled and boogled and everything else I can think of but can not get any deffernet word on what trigger 1 is ...
so im left i believe with 2 choices
1 the pretensioner
2 the ECU
Oh I also removed the comm unit again to check all plugs etc ...  HEEEELLLLPPP

It's definitely referring to the driver's airbag, which is all new, so I'm leaning towards the ecu. I had a look the other day, it needs configuring? I guess that means you can't just slap one in from another car but is this something PP can do? :?

Yeah I believe so I can lock the ECU and unlock so that I can work on the system without fear off triggering I ve decided that Im go-ing to replace both the ECU and the drivers seat belt tensioner .I only paid 700 quid for the car nearly 2 yrs ago now and apart from the fact ive spent enormous hrs on her ive proberbly only spent about 500 quid on all the arts ive replaced including rebuilding the head and replacing all the belts ?pulleys etc (im not including the cost of lexia 3 as this will pay for it self ) :D so overall Im still well in for a 51 plate glx estate ...resonable millage ...just more frustrating than terminal if ya know what i mean .. :)

:D :D :D Ok Ive finally cured the airbag light :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: I purchased a 2nd hand ecu and a 2nd hand pretensioner ..fitted first the ECU tested then fitted the pretensioner tested ..guess what :?: air bag light still on so I went to the diagnostics and went through each and every part there is a listing for drivers airbag 1 /drivers airbag 2 / passenger airbag 1 /passenger air bag 2 so on and so forth my fault was reading permanent fault level of driver module trigger 1 open circuit . so I thinks Ive just replaced everything so try the old trick of swicthing off and then back on ..then do another check .this time fault came up again only as intermittent not permanent so I did a clearance and bingo :P :D .my only conclusion is that sometimes even if you replace a faulty part it doesnt always mean the problem goes away ..unless you tell it to go away .i,e reboot system after replacing parts .
any way Immm Happy :cheesy: and please no dwarf jokes

So there was no hassle coding the ecu to your car? That's neat, glad you got it sorted :cheesy:

No dwarf jokes? Ok, I wouldn't want to make you grumpy...
