How to disable satnav?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Interesting, I thought they only made that design in 17s.

Do you have a close up/side view of your car?

Just been out to fiddle with my sat nav, found the thing thinking the disk was unreadable again, so nav was 'greyed' out so I would suggest you try removing the disk as a first action..

Once I had cleaned the disk I noticed you can set the nav volume to zero, so you could also try that..

There have been several discussions on here in the past including screen shots where people seem to indicate that they like the nav for the fact it shows street names as they drive along. Is there a 'passive mode' where it just runs showing your location that i cant find on my system, or do you drive everywhere with a route planned?

On the rare occasions when mine decided to work after a fashion, it would indicate street names if the radio was turned off, (though recently, the accuracy seems dropped off - by roughly 40 miles).

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I had this on mine until I was given a 2005/2006 Navteq disc, now I have the street name as I drive. Maybe update your disc, I can maybe send a 'sample' disc to you... :supafrisk:

Peugeot only made that design in 17" - Fuzz has the 16' wheels that are very similar looking but smoother and slightly curved edges by the rim, common on 307's.
