Re: How To - D9 Full-Mux Cruise Control Retrofit
A very detailed description, that's going to be a godsend to anyone attempting the same job - well done!
I found a grommet behind the carpet, more or less below the brake pedal and close to where the steering column passes through the bulkhead, that should be fine for RHD installations - as you say the cable run will be much shorter on a UK spec car.

how about this:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Peugeot- ... 92138.html
p/n 6242.z8...is it compatible for 406?
or must 6242.z9? what's the difference both of them?
and my car with autobox, have had redundant brake light switch. so I just need plug the cruise control stalk and activated via PP2000?

Mine shows as 6242z9, (which is £56 from Pug).
Try Ade the coupe breaker, (search eBay for Ade1122).

That's the cruise control stalk that also does the speed limiter. I've no idea if it's compatible
Ade1122 on ebay - http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/ade1122/ He doesn't seem to be listing any but that's not to say he doesn't have one.

Service box lists 6242z9 for mine, (if that's any help)?

Re: How To - D9 Full-Mux Cruise Control Retrofit
What, 6242Z9? You might have mentioned it...
I guess I should have included it in the how to on the KB
I'll have a look round later and see if I can work out if it's compatible but I had a quick squint last night - apparently there are 3 stalks
and I caught something about the stalk needing to be set up right in the BSI, so if it has a speed limiter that will need enabling. Did you ever see that option in PP?

No, only the normal cruise control, ''speed regiation'? and the overspeed warnimg thing that gingermagic and others were discussing a while back.

Re: How To - D9 Full-Mux Cruise Control Retrofit
Perhaps "overspeed" is what the limiter is about
Nah, I'm just reading the 307R handbook, it stops the car accelerating over the set speed and that speed is displayed on the trip meter, there's no mention of any warning. The stalk doesn't have any more buttons than a normal cruise stalk so I'm wondering how the system knows it has it
Ah, looks like the rotary control has 3 positions. Ah yes, I see it on blackclio's link, cruise down, speed limiter up and zero in the middle.
More investigations later, I'm cleaning out the boiler and I only came in for a drink. So that was summer, here's winter

Fascinating. I want one of those as much as I want to contribute to the Thatcher Memorial.steve_earwig wrote:Ah, looks like the rotary control has 3 positions. Ah yes, I see it on blackclio's link, cruise down, speed limiter up and zero in the middle.

Re: How To - D9 Full-Mux Cruise Control Retrofit
They all use a throttle cable but it's connected to a potentiometer on top of the engine, rather under the throttle pedal like other makes (e.g. Toyotas famously - making it one big, very expensive, lump.)

Re: How To - D9 Full-Mux Cruise Control Retrofit
I still didn't find anything definitive on the compatibility of the speed limiter, despite trawling through pages and pages of threads on other forums. I did learn that cars with the speed limiter fitted have a different throttle pedal assembly that actually limits the pedal being pushed further once the set speed is reached, rather than the ecu just stopping the engine accelerating further, like you'd think would be sensible.
I'd never need one of these anyway, not with the wife on board
