URGENT: imbo fault and pp2000

Post by dave406 »

Hi everyone
My father I. Law has a 51 plate 2.0hdi and his car is showing an imbo fault. Green flag recon the key is fine but the car is not listening to the key.

Does any one in the south west have pp2000 I would also like to get the adaptor and software can anyone recomend one? Also how can we get the mobo code.

If some one could help it would be great his self employed and his car is his only say of working. Beer tokens in return and tea and Bisc
Thanks

Chris

Hi,

Sorry to hear about this, I know how infuriating it is. The most likely cause is the aerial located round the ignition barrel that reads the chip in the key. I think they're pretty cheap from the dealers and the same part is used on many models, so maybe worth a punt?

PeugetForums have a map of PP2000 owners who offer help but it's not right (I'm not on it).

We're all off to the Haynes museum in Yeovil on Sunday, so if you're not too far away then I can pop in -- probably late afternoon.

Best wishes...

Hi mate, does your FiL have the 4 pin code to reset the immobiliser? You will need this and PP2000 to reset it, its kinda password protected.

If he doesn't then try to obtain it before RWB or another fellow member comes to help.

You will need to type your VIN into a relevant google search for Peugeot codes ( I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere ) and maybe pay a few quid but once you have it, it can save loads of time and hassle in the future. I must get mine one day

My PP was £75 from eBay and a cheap laptop with Windows XP was £30 - much cheaper to do it this way than get Peugeot to do it - plus you can activate optional extras etc.. :cheesy:

Should just be a case of swapping the parts; no coding necessary afaik.

Have you checked fuses? Not as stupid as it sounds.......my Coupe inexplicably failed to start one morning and it was showing the immob symbol on the dash. It would turn over but not fire.
I found a fuse in the engine bay fusebox had blown (don't know why)...replaced it and off she went. Hasn't happened since.

completely straightforward the first time,
but I wasn't as quick as I could have been getting the second (spare) key in.
PP2000 seemed to time-out.
Tried again but after entering the code, instead of learning the keys instead it just says "wrong key number".

So, one key works (phew) :) but a puzzle remains. :?
